If you aren't in the playoffs it doesn't matter. Like Davey said, I'm looking forward to this just to get to beat the shite out of Petrino and Grantham. That is more exciting to me than another Florida bowl.

All you people bitching and moaning need to chill out. We didn't make the playoffs, but you will still watch this game even though you keep swearing you wont.

Good people. I was fraternity brothers with one of them. He's trying to make a name for himself. Owns a BBQ place in Athens.

I'm shocked at the amount of folks that don't know what Belk is?

I thought all self respecting southern males and females shopped there?

Same. I had no idea it was only a southern place.

Growming up in Atlanta we had Davidsons and
Rich's in the 80's Malls.Belks got squeezed
out of those places.

I remember maybe a couple of stand alone stores
back then in the Metro area.

There's a Belk at Phipps Plaza (converted when they bought Parisian).

hat most people don't get yet is that after the big six bowls all other SEC linked bowls aren't tiered by success anymore (except the Citrus that looks like it will take the SECCG loser every year)...

The SEC is filling their half of the bowl matchups by looking for the most attractive matchups, location of bowl to team, excitement level of fanbase (i.e. UT fans happy will travel to Jax, UF fans bummed so put them in B'ham cause they ain't gonna travel anyway) & bowl support history (i.e. UGA fans should sell out Charlotte allotment, not so much Tampa).

After the Citrus Bowl pick it is now about putting fannies in seats, fans traveling & attractive matchups, not who went 9-3 or 6-6...

This. Not sure why everyone would rather play in a New Year's Day bowl just because in the past those have been "higher rated" bowl games. It simply doesn't matter with the new system. We are playing in a night bowl game against a ranked opponent, I think there is a better chance we come out motivated and play well than us playing a snooze fest against a team like Minnesota on Jan. 1st and having an embarrassing performance.

Go frick yourself while you revel in the Belk Bowl.

Just when you think our society and culture can't get any dumber or more shallow............

..We now have people that actually feel self-conscious over the company/brand that sponsors the bowl that their favorite football team plays in.

You people sound like shallow little teenage girls being forced to wear some clothes that don't have the right labels or price-tags on them.

OH, THE HORROR!!!!

Idiots........

Belk stores for a while during my childhood/teen years (80's-90's) were stand alone. Rich's and others did dominate the larger malls. Now that Rich's is gone Belk has stepped up into the malls.

I grew up in Newnan. It wasn't the Newnan that it is now with a million stores. Granted there were some malls around but they weren't that close. Southlake, Shannon, Cumberland were the ones we always made the drive to. However if you wanted to dress in Polo, Guess, Tommy Hilfiger and other higher brands back in the day and didn't want to drive to a mall, Belk had all that in stock. We had one in Newnan and there is no telling how much money we spent in that place as I was a fashion conscious spoiled rotten brat. Now not so much lol.

For me the only good thing about this game is that it is in walking distance from my condo in Charlotte.
