Texas - changed coach
USC - changed coach
Penn State - changed coach
Tennessee - changed coach

Belk is the name of the family who has owned it for over 100 years

None of them can find a coach worth two shits and you want to join them.

I know, I know, you think CMR is right there with them. No need to tell me.

And they are all 1 year in to a new coach except UT. 2 are fresh off of sanctions and still building up a roster.

But, then again, I have never been in the arena

Doubtful, win and we're probably playing Wisconsin.

No, if we had beaten tech, who was a top 15 team, we'd have finished above Ole Miss and possibly Miss St, likely at 7 or 8. That would have all but guaranteed us a spot in either the Peach or Cotton.

I guess people still haven't figured out that there is no bowl pecking order after the playoff commitee bowls. At least we're playing a ranked team that our team might actually give a frick about beating.

This. There are 3 tiers - CFP, New Years Non-CFP, and then all other bowls. If we had beaten GT and gone to the Peach and played TCU, I don't know if we would have liked the outcome. Our lack of consistency this year could result in an embarrassing blowout against a TCU team with a legitimate chip on their shoulder.

I said this on the SEC board too - our ranking is probably generous, given the awfulness of our losses. The committee didn't rank based on how good we can play when we are clicking on all cylinders. The Belk Bowl is about where we should be, and Louisville is a quality, ranked opponent who wanted our sloppy seconds as a DCoordinator who was #1 in total defense for a large portion of the season (not sure where they ended up). It will be an interesting game.

It has nothing to do with the arena. Your proof source is that you 'feel' these teams, which did much worse than UGA this year, will be better because they changed coaches. Not taking into account that most are on their 2nd or third coach since they saw the success UGA has had...

if the Belk bowl is acceptable, and apparently even preferred over a Florida bowl, then UGA football has taken a serious turn and is definitely headed in a direction it hasn't gone before....

What most people don't get yet is that after the big six bowls all other SEC linked bowls aren't tiered by success anymore (except the Citrus that looks like it will take the SECCG loser every year)...

The SEC is filling their half of the bowl matchups by looking for the most attractive matchups, location of bowl to team, excitement level of fanbase (i.e. UT fans happy will travel to Jax, UF fans bummed so put them in B'ham cause they ain't gonna travel anyway) & bowl support history (i.e. UGA fans should sell out Charlotte allotment, not so much Tampa).

After the Citrus Bowl pick it is now about putting fannies in seats, fans traveling & attractive matchups, not who went 9-3 or 6-6...

It's the "new" way it's gonna be done so get used to it...

Well, I think we can agree UT is better off than they have been. I think Texas and psu are in good hands. USC, well, seven win sark wouldn't give me much of a tickle in my pickle. All my reply meant was that all those teams you cited are all in year 1 or 2 of rebuilding

Do you ever daydream about what it would be like to strap on the red helmet with a G on it and run out of the tunnel with 80k+ fans screaming?

I can't believe you all think this is acceptable for UGA.

I know I am very late to the party on this.....

It is not acceptable but I think some of us are trying to find the proverbial silver lining in all of this. I wanted to play Notre Dame but we didn't get that match up. However it does excite me to have a chance to embarrass Grantham.
