Dang Sic you know all the good places in Statham. I live just outside of town on the Athens side. Fajita Mex is good food and good service. The Chen's Family Chinese is good too.

From Athens, take 129 N to Jefferson, then South to Mall of Georgia Hwy 20 through Sugar Hill, to 400, and haul arse on down.

This is God's route. Especially if you take 129N to Etheridge Rd, then to Adams, then to Galille Church Rd until it turns into 124 and then into Zion Church Rd. Get on/off 85 there at Braselton.

For the better part of 20 years, I had no idea there was any other way to get to Athens.

ETA: Wife's family lives in Roswell. Now we take the 316 route and it takes me longer to get through Pleasant Hill Rd and Alpharetta traffic than it does to get from Gwinnett Place Mall to Athens

Yessir. You know it's legit because similar to most good BBQ places, it looks like a shithole with picnic tables from the outside.

Blazers also has a second location in Hull to the East of Athens. FYI

I am going to try that route on Friday. I always thought that was the quickest way. According to the googler...

Yes Pleasant Hill/State bridge from 316 to Avalon in the afternoon literally takes an hour. If you get caught in school traffic, might as well put it in park. Then another hour up 316 through the red lights. It lightens up a hair once you get to Bethlehem and you can pretty much fly after that. I turn on Hog Mountain and its smooth sailing from there.

More or less it's great free labor. Can't tell you the number of golden ideas I've laid out there for Grady

This is why moving from Winterville to Lawrenceville only cut my commute to ATL by 30 minutes. The part I cut out is the haul arse part. I'm saving alot of miles on the car, but not as much time. Almost not worth it... would rather live in Athens/Watkinsville again.

Let my Acorn's investing portfolio take off and I'll be talking money.

Made 4 bucks in the last month, so I'll need some time.

What this town REALLY needs is a really really good REAL Mexican restaurant. Not the "Gringo" covered in yellow cheese and refried beans TexMex. I mean a real quality Mexican restaurant.
Now that would make a killing.....

Dude, Tlaloc. You'll thank me after.

It's by the loop off of Chase street.

Well, there's only a handful of places, but they all tend to be pretty good.

When we moved from Oconee county, we settled in a house on Broad Street in Statham, across from the school and we could walk to most of the places. Went to Blazer's a good bit (wife's cousin and his wife actually own the ones in Hartwell and Commerce and his wife is the daughter of the owner of the rest). We bought a house just outside Statham last year, so we still frequent these places. Chen's is good. We've only tried it like twice, but it's not bad. As far as Barrow county is concerned, I personally like Oriental Kitchen (OK) near the Winder Walmart, but it's a bit of a haul.
