Per @marcweiszer , Virginia has granted Georgia permission to speak with graduate transfer QB, Greyson Lambert.
Lambert is a 6-5 pro-style QB from Jesup. Didn't exactly set it on fire in Charlottesville last year; had something like 10 TDs, 11 int., completed 59% of passes.

Can't see him starting here. Doesn't appear to be good enough.

I'd take him as depth. We're potentially critically low in QB numbers depending on transfers

If he did that in the ACC, I want no part of him in the SEC. Especially since it'd be just a 1 year gig anyway.

He was a 4 star out of college but UVA probably lacks the talent on the outsides to really make him shine. He would probably be an upgrade over our current starters but that isn't saying much. If we are still exploring transfers means we don't feel real good about our situation or we are preparing for transfers of our own.

I think he has 2 years of eligibility.

He's not as good as our QBs, but it could be a case of just exploring his options to go to grad school closer to home and UGA protecting themselves from potentially only having two scholarship QBs. He's not an NFL guy so starting may not be a high priority.

His coaching at UVa was horrific, in fairness to him. Two years of eligibility left.

His coaching as well as his O-line were horrible. I think with proper coching that he could be a solid (not great) SEC QB, which is all we really need with our kind of running game. I am all for it.

How the hell did we find ourselves in this position?

This QB race seems less about who will excel and rise to the occasion, as it is about who sucks the least.......and will be the least of a liability..

I am getting the Fear.

I kind of like the idea. At this point, it sure seems like the coaching staff is worried about Ramsey throwing as many INTs as TDs. Maybe with Lambert, it will be 12 and 12. I get a sick feeling that Ramsey will be a 20 and 20 guy if he starts all year.

I think it will be worse. Remember those 4 and 5 int games from Tony Romo?

I just don't think Ramsey is very good.

When was the last time a Richt coached qb threw 20+ ints?

We could've used the kid from Gainesville, GA, DeShaun Watson, that Clemson got. I think we honed in on Park because of his classic pro style and let Watson slip through.

If we were starting this season with Watson at QB we'd have a lot less worries about our offense as he looks like a QB that can do it all. We may look back on his recruitment as a huge miss if he lights it up at Clemson next season and we struggle.

That having been said, it's still too early to give up on the QBs we have. Ramsey has all of the tools and could grow into an outstanding QB. I'm guessing he'll have a longer TD pass in the first game than Mason had all last season. The long pass was completely missing from our offense last year and that's about to change. Of course, Ramsey could have more INTs in the first game than Mason had all season, but If the game slows down for him he can be very, very good.

So - we'll see.

When is the last time we were left in this situation. That being said, I expect us to lean heavily on the run game.

I don't see how anyone could see what Ramsey has shown in his limited action as a positive.

It's May 29 and we're looking at QB transfers. I pray all of our RB's stay healthy.

So because people want to play for one of the best qb coaches we're freaking out?

Faton Bauta has been a third string QB the last two years, but he may very well be our starting QB this year.....

In your opinion, is Bauta in this position because he has improved enough to be a starter, or is it because the talent-level of the competition for this position has dropped off significantly??

Winter is Coming.
