seriously...this place cracks me the frick up...I've been involved on this forum or its predecessor for almost a decade...and the shite I read here nowadays is literally the worst dribble I've ever seen...

why on earth did anybody here feel like we would be a SEC competitor in year fricking 1 of the CKS era?

we have been on a downward spiral since Aaron Murray left at least....but yet CKS is to fix that in less than a calendar year?

the guy is learning on the job how to be a HC with a true freshman qb and no legitimate wide receivers (Richt's fault) and piss pooor OLINE and we all knew that was the case..

everybody save like 3 people on here were ready to burn CMR at the stake...

now he is the greatest coach Georgia ever had and we shouldn't have gotten rid of him and CKS is a bust?

fickle as frick...that's what this fan base is..we are worse than TENN and USCE fans right now..we look like whiny little bitches...and the coaching change we got was the exact thing most everybody here wanted and campaigned for...

this place man...frick...give CKS some time to build and get things his way...don't complain about what he is doing with CMR's fricked up situation...and say it is all his fault...that's ludicrous

we have tons of potential and will get there...and yes competing for the EAST is what we need to focus on and then the SECC...do those things and the natty playoff picture will develop on its own...

it's obvious here that most of you have never coached a snap yourselves and don't get the struggles he is dealing with...be good fans...support the team and the staff...in three years if NOTHING has changed...then he should be fired...but we all knew the growing pains were gonna be there...while they are happening we can't fall apart

Nobody did. Where id you see this?

The complains are not because we are not winning the SEC. They are because we are losing to bad teams. We haven't had a good win this year, yet.

Must be why everybody predicted we would finish with 8-9 wins, huh?

You are correct. It might have been more than three, but pretty close! I was one of the three, but have come to feel that it was time for him to go, too.

Good thing is...it's Wednesday. Typically everybody has vented and gotten it out of their system by Wednesday. I think you will see things calm down.....at least until the next loss, then it will get all cranked up again, whether it is justified or not.

I am still on board with Smart but at least half of us idiots posting to this board could have taken a lawn chair to our game with Vandy, told Kirby and company to take the day off 'cause we got this, and then told the team just before kick-off, in a way of motivational speech, to score more points than they do...and then spent the rest of the day watching our athletes have fun and do what they do and beat the frick out of Vandy. We would have to do no more than show up and remind them the goal is to score more than the opponent and we beat Vandy, and Nichols State, like a fricking drum. There is a substantial gap in talent between us and Vandy and Nichols...yet we lost to one and almost lost to another. We have another rent=a-win on the schedule....is anyone confident we come out and boat race them or do we struggle? I'd bet a coca-cola that we struggle....

frick you..it's true...I don't even come on this part of the site that much anymore for all the whining and bitching and endless threads about the same tired shite...

we lose to bad teams cause right now we ARE a bad team and its not gonna get fixed over night...just cause we had 92K at the spring game didn't mean that Oline issues, special teams issues, WR issues, QB issues weren't there..not to mention the D learning yet another new coaching scheme...we have issues...we are not that good...so lets fire the coach who has been on campus for less than a calendar year!!

do you disagree WG?

or is that drivel too?

Agree. I didn't give up on Richt when he went 8-4 in his first season and I'm not discounting Smart for the same reason. I think the main difference is Richt set a higher bar with mostly 10 win seasons though granted it wasn't a NC level bar. But I seriously doubt that Richt would have coached this team to 10 wins.

You know...I am wondering if part of the problem might be they are putting pressure on themselves. Too much pressure. I mean, the players and the coaching staff. maybe they are playing too tight? Playing tight can make a very good team look very bad. Just a thought.

we are one of the bad teams...everybody here wants us to not be...but because of the lack of depth at certain positions and new coaching schemes and young players at key positions...we are not that good...firing Smart is not the solution.

I agree. I do think we would have 1 or 2 more wins, but he would struggle too.

Nope, I ain't never coached a down....but I did play a lot of football as a kid....I played 3 games a week in the 7th and 8th grades on 3 different teams (a youth football team, the JV team and the Varsity team....and I actually got in some mop up time on the Varsity team from time to time!) and started on the Varsity team in game one of my freshman year through the last game of my senior season....played on both the offensive and defensive line....and almost every down due to numbers (we weren't very good but in my Sophmore year we did get our asses whupped in a state semi-final!). I have also watched wayyyyy more hours of football than I care to admit....I will be the first to admit I don't know as much as most fans who have watched and played as much as I do....but a person from Uruguay who knew nothing at all about the game could not take a serious look at the programs at UGA, Nichols and Vandy and come to the conclusion that they are on the same plain and that our losing to one and nearly losing to the other could possibly be due to talent and a new coaching staff....it is due to a serious lack of planning on the part of that new staff...period.

They are not new to the game....this is not any of them's fist season as a coach at some level...and it took a monumental effort to fail to prepare to beat Vandy and Nichols State in a way that wasn't embarassing....period.

I still think Kirby was a good hire and I know it was past time for UGA and Richt to part ways....but that does not mean that Kirby and company have not shat the bed in a SERIOUS manner that is going to be tough to overcome IF they don't do something spectacular by the third season.

We weren't going to win the SEC...and it was a reach to think we would win the SEC East....BUT, if you look at how it has played out, with a break against Tennessee and a game plan to beat Vandy we would be in the drivers seat in the SEC East with our destiny in our hands through the UF game...which is all we should ever realistically expect at UGA....had we lost to who we realistically thought we would...anyone on the schedule with the exception of Vandy, UK, Nichols State and whoever the frick the other rent-a-win is, I personally would not be that concerned...I would chalk it up to talent gap and new staff....but we lost to Vandy and damn near lost to Nichols....and there is simply no way that new staff with a promising future or a talent gap allows that to happen...what allows that to happen is a staff that is in waaaaaaaaayyyyyyy over its head, even more so than any first year staff would be. We don't need a staff to beat Nichols and Vandy.....

I think that is exactly what the problem is. If you read the scout article it is pretty obvious a lot of people in a better position to know than most of us admire Smart...and his knowledge of the process....but there is a limit....if he has come in and forced the process down a bunch of reluctant throats he is going to have problems. Jim Donnan did the same thing...talked about needing his players to win big....well thats all well and good but until you get there you have to play with the ones who are on campus.

Our gameplan looks a lot like a live scrimmage....continuing to do shite until we get it right. No one realistically expected us to compete for a SEC Title but the SEC East SUCKS....on pure talent alone we should be competitive...yet we go out and lose to Vandy. And do so by scrimmaging on game day....that doesn't bode well for the process.....

Yeah thats the ticket

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that it takes a serious effort for a UGA team to look as badly as it has against inferior talent like Nichols and Vandy....

Donnan was kind of right. His players eventually did win big.

They did..I agree...but the point is if you know the game you can teach the process Monday through Friday and then use what you got on Saturday to win games you should win.....you don't continue the learning sessions through game day....if you do you do so AFTER you have the game in hand against teams like Vandy and Nichols who are really glorified scrimmages...you may come out in practice mode, that is understandable, but when it is painfully apparent that practice mode ain't gonna work you switch to beating their arse like the inferior fricks they are mode...

We've lost to one bad team. Tennessee and Ole Miss are good teams and we were underdogs in both of those games.
