They did..I agree...but the point is if you know the game you can teach the process Monday through Friday and then use what you got on Saturday to win games you should win.....you don't continue the learning sessions through game day....if you do you do so AFTER you have the game in hand against teams like Vandy and Nichols who are really glorified scrimmages...you may come out in practice mode, that is understandable, but when it is painfully apparent that practice mode ain't gonna work you switch to beating their arse like the inferior fricks they are mode...
I get what you're saying, but tend to disagree when you're dealing with a coach in year 1. You have to establish your program with your expectations. Sometimes you have to take a step back to take two steps forward.

We've lost to one bad team. Tennessee and Ole Miss are good teams and we were underdogs in both of those games.
Correct. But some of those wins sure felt like losses!
Its perplexing to me how we performed against South Carolina, Missouri and Nicholls. Those are all bad teams. They have some strengths, but they are still bad teams.

OL is bad. Mizzou worked Briscoe. Didn't come to play against Nicholls in general.
Not that complicated, really.

I agree...and that is what I think we are doing...but we expect to take 2 steps backwards....losing to Vandy and damn near losing to Nichols is not 2 steps backward....that is several steps....if it weren't for some pretty spectacular natural ability coming out we would very well could be 2-5 or worse....thats not 2 steps backward.....

Think he was just playfully trolling you.
I do agree with your post. I think what has got most of us disgruntled, myself included, was the loss to Vandy. First year or not, that shouldn't have happened especially in the manner that it did, and it was the first I've been openly critical of Smart. Unless you are a poster like SamsonSeed and are absolutely unreasonable, most of us knew this was going to be "rebuild" "reload" "refresh" "relearn" or whatever "re" word you want to use to describe it type of season.

I agree. I didn't plan on a Vanderbilt loss, but I had us going 8-4. We're still on track for that so I'm all set. If we're still 8-4 in 2019-2020 then I might be a little more upset

we are one of the bad teams...everybody here wants us to not be...but because of the lack of depth at certain positions and new coaching schemes and young players at key positions...we are not that good
I understand what you are saying and your frustrations. However, we may be thin at some positions, but we are still better than Vanderbilt, and MUCH better than we showed than South Carolina, Nicholls, and Missouri. This is where the frustration is coming from. Talent does not explain the poor performances against those teams.

firing Smart is not the solution.
I agree 100%. He needs to figure out some things fast, though. A lot of what we are seeing can be directly attributed to the coaching staff. The games I mentioned above cannot be waved away by saying we are thin at some positions.

I think they are saying Richt won the SEC in his second year with Donnan's players. Probably can be argued, since USUALLY your juniors and seniors contribute more than the underclassmen.

you can specifically and very definitely lick my arse...in the gooey spot...clock management matters at every level of the game and my point with that statement was that we have so many armchair qb's on here who don't know jack shite about football except what vern and gary tell them to know on staurday at 3:30...im just sick of the board being a dumping place for a bunch of nonsensical arguments about why we have struggles...they aren't hard to see or understand and they were to be expected...suck it up and cheer em up..its all that can be done right now...the fire Kirby threads are dumb

And yu have to love the expectations Reset Button these phonies are trying to hit, don't you?
As if a hundred thousand Georgia fans pilgrimaged to Athens and sold out the G Day game because they were excited about the potential of competing for SEC east championships THREE YEARS DOWN THE ROAD!
Losing to vandy. At home. On homecoming. is just part of "the process" now. Totally no big deal! The plan to upgrade our coaching staff is completely 100% right on track! Just a few growing pains..
Give. Me. A. fricking. Break.

The reason 100K fans went to that game is because the program created a lot of excitement for that game with the new coach. The new coach pushed that marketing effort to help recruiting.
Did most fans expect UGA to be better this season? Probably. They're fans after all. What most fans think is pretty irrelevant, though.

Just like mostly anyone can drive and vote, no matter what their experience or IQ, anyone can get on here, or elsewhere, and spout off about UGA football and CKS. This Samsons Seed dude is posting about who will be our next HC, when the current one is barely 10 months into the job!
You can tell some of the posters who have been involved with football/athletics as opposed to those who are armchair QBs. The latter think it's easy to build/rebuild CFB programs. If it were, everybody would be doing it.
CKS has been beaten one time in his HC'ing career. The other two were flukes. He'll learn to correct those, and he'll be a damn good CFB HC. I just hope that everybody on this board remembers his detractors when he does.

Good news is...we have UF...GT...and AU left..plenty of time for Kirby to re-earn the fanbase' trust.
Win those 3, and he'll have people shining his shoes.
