And we'll be eternally grateful but CKS doesn't need to have to butt heads with CJP from the get go. as crow said, the things that made CJP good for change in Richt's system will/could be a detriment to a new coach trying to implement his system (no power struggles needed in year 1)...

That was sarcasm haha. I am completely on board, totally agree with Crow's synopsis, and have considered Pruitt to be water under the bridge for a while now.

Conveniently left out the rest of my post that completely disproves your point.

The rest of your post said he was a good recruiter and a good coach. No one disagrees with that. He also has a personality that is difficult for a coach of 15+ years to deal with, let alone a first time HC.

I agree that Pruitt had a great secondary, and I would have been happy with him here, but if you're more worried about keeping a DC, instead of letting a first year head coach you're doing it wrong.

At the same time, we didn't play a single quarterback with a pulse this year outside of maybe Josh Dobbs, and he lit us the F up. If you wanted Richt out, you have to be ok with the way all of this is gonna turn out, at least until the regular season starts.

frickit and frick pruitt. I back my dawgs and kirby was/is a dawg. Ill be happy watching the games no matter if its a shitshow or a natty. I will piss and moan if we lose but who wouldn't. I agree if he was gonna be shittin in my daisy garden like a five year old throwing a tantrum then off with him. Time to quit bitchin about the coaches on the way out and support the one we have in place as well as those not announced yet. or whichever works for ya best. This directed towards those knocking the move not dawgsontop.

Did OP just skim over this part?

quote:

The Bulldogs faced only three SEC teams with winning records this season — Alabama, Tennessee and Florida — and Georgia gave up an average of 437 yards and 34.3 points in those games. And Pruitt was a source of dissension not only within the athletic department, but within the coaching staff. Some members of Mark Richt’s staff told the former head coach they weren’t staying if Pruitt was retained.

I was just about to post at least part of that ATL...

That's the HUGE part.

Mother fricking this...

I'm tired of hearing how great this defense was this year. The defense was exposed in the games that mattered as well, just not to the same degree as the offense.

Ultimately, you can look across the entire SEC and overall QB play was not sharp. There was discussion on 680 today on that very topic as to why the SEC overall has been down this year and not "the best conference". This really started last year, but the last 2 years have seen a lot of turnover at the QB position. Not a lot of teams with solid incumbents. Just another reason to solidify the firing of Richt and not really a stat to hang your hat on if you're Jeremy Pruitt in my opinion. I held out most of the year with a jury's still out opinion, and while I'd have loved him to stay and get one more season (keep some recruits and ideally get him out of the SEC if we let him go for 2017), I can't fault the decision to get rid of him either for many of the same reasons stated.

The article says that other staff wouldn't have stayed if he had been retained. That tells me that he would've been gone whether Richt had been fired or not. That fact means he did some really crazy things to the detriment of the entire staff.

I agree partly with the defense was exposed against good teams thing. It's really hard to have a good defense when your offense does nothing the whole game.

Put it like this-

I buy a Wendy's because I love fricking frosty's.
You are the manager there, you sweep floors, you make that shitty chili, you do it all.
I say, you know what, all these idiots in here have got to go. It's my money on the line and I wanna put my best people there, so I hire my people......not the chili making, sweeping, dumbass that thinks he knows everything. This ain't Burger King.

Just like that.....you're fired the same way as Pruitt was.
