lol no way... I've learned over my years that what is classified as "science" can be more of an art form than anything.

Especially when, literally, billions of dollars in funding are involved. Then you add ideology and politics as additional main driving forces and you get what we have in the Global Warming fiasco.

But it is darn entertaining, I'll say that much.

That's why I don't get into the debate any more. I just stand on the sidelines with my popcorn and laugh. Though, sometimes it is tempting to hop back into the fray.

I do. That's why the graph was measuring emissions, not total CO2 in the atmosphere. So again, humans have added roughly 70 ppm to the atmosphere since 1960. Am I reading the graph wrong?

No, just the graph you're reading is deceiving you.

It goes from 4000 metric tons to 6500 metric tons.

What you don't understand is in the scope of physical volume at the level the atmosphere is measured at, 2500 metric tons is an astronomically small amount.

It's like you have $100 million dollars and adding 2500 pennies to it and then making a graph between $400 dollars and $700 dollars and show what the curve the 2500 pennies added to your worth would be, and then making a big deal about it because the graph shows a straight fast incline.

You're being bamboozled by tricks. It looks extreme, but you still only added 2500 pennies to $100 million dollars.

Just out of curiosity...what do you think that graph means?

To me, half of the temp increase is a reversion to the mean. Next is an increase in the anomaly to an amount above average....okay.

But the scale is what's interesting. What significance is 100 years for a planet that is 4.5 billion yrs old?

We've added 70 ppm of CO2 in the past 100 years, right?

And the global emissions are increasing with an increase in population.

We're at ~400ppm. With combined natural and human contributions, we're expected to start losing coral, plankton, mollusks, and shellfish in 50 years.

Them warmist fools that got stuck in the (supposedly rapidly disappearing) ice in Antarctica will have to plant a new Black Forest to compensate for their immense carbon footprint caused by failed sea rescues and helicopter rides.

Or they can probably just provide Algore a few million more for whatever the heck it is that he does. That should make them feel better.

By 2100, the projected rise in temperature is 4-12 degress Fahrenheit.

Crops will start to die about an increase of 3.5 degrees Fahrenheit.

Sea levels projected to rise, affecting the Netherlands, Florida, the east coast, California, Lousiana.

All of this is projected with the current "mouse farts in the stadium."

Humans are contributing to the rise in global temperatures, and virtually every academic institution in the world is in agreement.

I myself am but a lowly student. But I am throwing in my chips with the scientists, because at the end of the day, they're the experts.

Me too. Only I did it when all of the climate experts said we were heading for a new ice age. And I'm still clingin' to that.

I refuse to complain. I was a paper boy for the Chicago Tribune for the Blizzard of '77 and then a year or two later when we hit 75 below zero wind chill. THAT, my friend, is misery personified.

So I got nuthin' to complain about.

I'm just happy to still be alive. According to the scientists in the 1960's we were all supposed to run out of food due to overpopulation by the 1990's.

BTW...have you gone outside yet? I haven't stepped foot outside since the 80's when I was told I'm going to die from the hole in the ozone....

...oh wait...women stopped using aerosol for hairspray and we threw out our old refrigerators and managed to head off our extinction.

Screw that noise. I've hoarded guns and ammo.

So thanks for saving all of that foodstuff for me.
