Is it just me, or does it feel like we're losing steam in recruiting compared to years past?

It just feels like at this point last year, we were at least in the mix for a large number of the most highly recruited guys, and this year it kind of feels like we're either getting these couple guys to finish out the class or we're going with plan B's/2.5 star guys...

maybe i'm just bored. Idk.

Not really. It pretty much always slows down in-season

In the top 2-3 for:

Deangelo Gibbs
Nate McBride
Aubrey Solomon
Malik Herring
Markaviest Bryant
Nico Collins
Jeremiah Holloman
Isaiah Wilson
Badara Traore
Walter Grant
Leonard Warner
Monty Rice
KJ Britt
etc.

Need to find a corner

I think Kirby should sit Godwin down after the season and ask him if he wants to play on Sunday's, then make the change to CB. I personally thought he projected better at DB coming out of HS, we may catch lightning in the bottle with him and Hardman at CB next yr.

I feel like we have more at this point. Maybe that's why it feels slow.

Me, too. I think we did so well so quickly, it just feels like it is slower. I don't remember being in the top 3 in the rankings at any point last year. And we are still in the mix for some of the top talent, so we have an opportunity to finish big, too.

That argument was made with Malcolm Mitchell at one point. Now he is a NFL receiver.

Godwin just needs to work on his routes and getting separation.. He's working with a freshman QB and a New OC and Head coach that is bringing Eason along very slowly....Godwin has two more years to get the the league. He can get there as a receiver

Maaan that would be a crazy flip were it to happen. We REALLY could use him or Isaiah Wilson. That would seal one of the best OL classes I can recall.

Godwin needs to stay at wide receiver. He has the best hands on the team and was the second-leading receive last year. Having a freshman QB has hurt him a bit this year just like every one else minus McKenzie. Moving him to corner would be great way to really hurt his pro prospects. Not to mention he isn't physical receiver so it that would be really magnified as a corner.

I think Baker and Hardman are going to a great pair of corners and and least one of Rico McGraw or Briscoe will step up as the nickel back next season.

We DESPERATELY need an offensive tackle to come ready to start at left tackle in 2017. I don't like Wynn there because I think is a better fit at guard and I would rather have #5 freshman than a JUCO(duh).

The offensive line situation is the only thing keeping UGA from potentially being a possible top 5 team next instead of delaying that progression to 2018.

ANY elite offensive lineman knows what Pittman can do.

We already have the best offensive line class I can remember. Three All-Americans already including two tackles. We have another All-American guard reshirting and we lead the for #1 guard in the country next season. Plus we have top 100 offensive tackle prospect for 2018 already committed.

UGA has not recruited this well on the offensive EVER.

Now we just need couple of elite wide receivers and corners and this should have no holes. Well we still need a kicker and hope Smart is doing something about that. It is worth a scholarship this year.

Still got Parrish next year too. DB's will have lots of experience. Just need somebody to step into that other safety spot (hopefully Lecounte)

You don't think Lecounte would be too light paired up with another small safety in Sanders? I'm hoping Rashad Roundtree will move back to strong safety next season if he has the coverage skills. Lecounte takes over for Sanders in 2018. Lecounte is damn good he might be able to handle strong safety, but I would be worried about run support.

He probably would be better as a corner if he stuck w/ DEF out of high school.

MAYBE, but he is an excellent WR that would have been even better if not for the injuries and lackluster QBs during his last two seasons.

Its all about how good of a tackler and hitter he is, and thats what he does well unlike Sanders.

We'll still have Davis next season also, but LeCounte will almost certainly play.

Tyrique McGhee should also be a big part of the secondary next year, based on early reviews.

Still the best cover safety in this class. His closing speed on the ball is ridiculous.

Too stiff coming out of HS to be an impact player in the defensive backfield, but he has the chance to be a stud at ILB once he picks that position up.

Edit: DeAngelo Gibbs is a big UGA lean at this point and can play either safety of corner. at 6'2" 205 already, he has the size that we currently lack.
