first, its Israel Troupe and Rantavious Wooten.
second, both of those were 4*. However, Chris Conley and Micheal Bennet were both 3 stars and both had great careers and were DGDs

Really ? I get the DGD part but great careers. I think that's the problem we set the bar pretty low for "greatness". Pretty much equales average on top shelf P5 teams.
Ps. Sorry about the typos

They were productive receivers that could block as well. They werent superstars, but I will stand behind the great careers statement.

Couple of threads on 247 say Whaley committed to the G.
Run dat ball. Go Dawgs.

Some of our 3 and 4 stars end up being our best players and some turn out to be flaming turds. The points is, recruiting is not an exact science. I expect Chigbu, Wilson, and Godwin to all be very productive players for Georgia and only one of them was highly rated so star searching isn't everything. Yes, players like Davis would play early and contribute but at the same time would he be level headed when he isn't being fed the ball??? Maybe...maybe not. I would take a guy like Bennett any day of the week at this point.

Holyfield and Whaley
I will never understand recruiting
THe last article I read on him he refuted Arkansas being his leader but said he was going to silent commit and then commit at the Under Armour game. Things change so quickly.

At least we'll always have running backs

Whaley put it out on Twitter as well. Another big RB pick up. Apparently we are back in it with Sermon as well after a visit?? I can't imagine him choosing to go to UGA with Whaley and Holyfield in front of him and us going after McFarland next year and Zamir White in '18. White is going to be a beast.

Whaley also told reporters he committed back on his OV. So he was the silent commit they were referring to.

Another Dawg with Beaumont ties. I'm no longer the only one.

I heard from a good source that we have been operating under the understanding that Davis' father was influenced a lot.

I think we take only 1 in 2017, and go balls to the wall for Zamir in 2018. As of late, he has taken a lot of interest in Clemson, but we’ll worry about that in 2 years. Just keep recruiting. Glad to have Whaley on board. He’ll get some carries next year no doubt.

Great thanksgiving...love the sneaky john Lilly tweet. Anybody have a preference, or thoughts as to which will translate better, between the two backs, Holyfield and Whaley? IMHO, without having really watched much on Whaley, think he's more college-ready build-wise.
Holyfield has torn my golden lions to shreds for the past few years, but he's battled injuries just about every year, and I just think he's gonna need to bulk up to play in the SEC. Runs hard, but sometimes tries to run over would be tacklers, despite his frame. Regardless, very excited to hopefully get both in the fold and add to the stable.

Waley and Holyfield are very complimentary of one another, style-wise. Holyfield is a tough runner while Waley is more Sony-like, very slippery. If we can somehow add Zeus White and McFarland to this haul, we're going to be just fine

Whaley has lots of wiggle but he also looks more like Gurley the way he attacks the hole. Didn't have the homerun like Gurley just a very smooth runner.

Holyfield looks like Caleb King in high school. I was hoping that Whaley was the Gurley/Chubb type. Finding out that Elijah is the harder runner of the two and that Whaley is more "Sony-like" is not encouraging. Ah well, maybe one of or both will prove me wrong. I hope so.
