It seems like the recruiting media is annoying some of these UGA recruits with their paparazzi-type reporting. Every other story says BREAKING!!! Derrick Brown and Hardman both seem annoyed at the beatwriting about them lately. Hope the staff can let them know that these guys writing are click-hunters.

The guys at 247, which is the only site I subscribe to, didn't use the snapchat photo, Rusty just reported on Friday that he had from a good source that Hardman would be on campus. There were a couple of subscribers who brought up the photo evidence of him being on campus. I agree that some people take things a little too far (Other fans were bashing Brown for not giving them a fair chance and our fans were heckling him to "make his commitment public", like a bunch of retards), but in Hardman's case he put evidence out there on social media; these kids have to realize that they have thousands, potentially TENS of thousands of followers and if they put that stuff out there, it will get passed along. I follow a bunch of football analysts and recruiting analysts and even some guys currently/formerly on the team, but I refuse to follow a recruit on Twitter or any other social media, and I certainly refuse to contact them via those methods. The people who do that are a special kind of weird.

It would be interesting to know which recruits have subscribed to various pay sites to follow themselves. They all seem to be aware of everything that's written that mentions their names. There are scores of good players who have never been rated and whose names never appear on any board. Those guys would kill to have the universe of fans following their every move.
Mark Richt's advice is the best. Richt repeatedly stresses to recruits that all this stuff on the internet is just noise.
Recruits - Listen to your parents, listen to your prospective coaches and maybe listen to your HS coaches. Ignore clowns on the internet.

People tend to forget that these are 16-18 year old kids.

Didn't wanna start a new thread bc it's not really worth it. For those that follow recruiting more closely than I do...do yall think we made any promises to some of last year's freshmen regarding touches to help sway them here? To be more specific..I'm watching the clemson game. We have gurley obviously who is coming into the year as a junior and one of hte best RBs in america. Our first offensive play is a sweep to Michel. Our second play is a handoff to Mckenzie. They were both pretty solid plays so I"m not complaining. Just kinda made me wonder if maybe we told them "if you come here, we'll give you the ball in the first few snaps" I'm just rambling really, but I was curious if maybe that was a thing.

I think that's a thing that happens a lot, plus it catches the other team off guard. I know Texas promised their first pass against ND this year to a certain receiver, but I doubt that one will actually happen.
I also think it's probably cool for recruits to see how early in the season they can be involved if they come to UGA.

No. Not really Richt's style. All the recruits say he never promises them anything other than the chance to compete for a spot.

I don't think it happens often. I think that was a case of those two being two of our best playmakers, and wanting to show Clemson something unexpected early so they worry about it the rest of the game.
Somebody like Crowell was probably promised some things because we had basically no other backs.

The infamous "missing TB formation" on the 20yd field that Crowell got to see from Richt's office....
IIRC...Had to report it as a secondary violation...

Not trying to nitpick too much, but those plays took place on our second possession. Clemson was keying heavily on Gurley our first possession, so the way I see it is that we got the ball to different playmakers while still having Gurley lined up in the backfield to open things up more. It does speak very highly of Michel/McKenzie/Chubb considering the fact that Bobo seemed to have a lot of trust in them before they played a down of cfb. I believe that those three were simply too talented to keep off the field.

To preface, I know absolutely nothing about this guy. But this seems very underwhelming, especially when you have huge WR prospects still on the board. His offer list not very good either. Maybe BMac seems a diamond in the rough? Dallas, any insight from 247?

We're going to make room for guys like Robertson, Mecole and Kyle Davia regardless of the circumstance. It wouldn't shock me to see the former two play D or at least be taken as athletes. I'm guessing we would still take Simmons or Nixon if they wanted to join.

Looks like this is the case. He spends his summer doing national track events so he misses most of the camp circuit. That could have something to do with his rating. McClendon likes what he sees and if we're willing to accept his commitment with who we are still after, we should probably be pretty excited.

He has better film than Simmons or Anderson imo. He also just ran a 10.6 100M.
I'm not totally sold but am ok with taking him now. I think the WR commit list will fluctuate a bit later in the cycle.

Apparently BMac loves the kid & what he can do. As someone else said, kid didn't camp much cause he was running track so like Worner his rankings are undervalued...
Even if the kid doesn't pan out it helps in opening the door more for UGA in a big time state and starts growing B-Mac's name in another crucial talent rich area....

He's a kid who can definitely take the top off of a defense but apparently BMac loves that he can make guys miss in space. We have a bunch of guys who are 6'1"+ and we have some guys who are really fast, but he's potentially more of a Mckenzie/Godwin type player. I'll trust the coaches and analysts, because I know nothing about this kid.
