the situations are neither similar nor related. And you bleeding in every thread about Hyman/Kennedy is beyond old.

If you have a comment about baseball, please feel free to post it here, otherwise, kindly post that in one of the myriad of threads you've already created specifically for that purpose so as not to shite up the baseball thread

They are related in that Hyman's decision on Childress will allow us to "properly manage our expectations".

Get ready for the most stacked regional in the country. Both Perfect Game and Baseball America are predicting Rice to host t.u. and A&M. That means a game one lone star showdown and a possible 2nd match up later in the regional too. If we don't win the regional but send tu packing it's about as sweet as it gets for not advancing. On top of it bring stacked just think how difficult it will be to get a ticket. Huge demand for a 4,000 to 5,000 seat ballpark.

Selection show is at 11. Let's see if it comes true.

It would be cool to see I guess. The atmosphere at Reckling for it will be off the charts.

Hyman breathes a sigh of relief as he gets his raise.

I honestly don't know shite about the sip team this year. Rice is going to be a tough out regardless though

Haven't paid much attention, but I do know they fell apart late, have great pitching, have shitty hitting. I'll do a little research and see if that's really true. Most that info is based off what my old man tells me. He's a tshirt fan.

Juts dropped $75 a ticket for all session passes for Sunday & maybe Monday. I'm selling Friday's ticket and maybe even Saturday's too if anyone is interested.

I have a wedding in my backyard on Fri & my SIL's engagement party on Sat. Damn people falling in love during baseball playoffs.

I never post in this thread, but I have a nugget of info for once:

My FIL is close friends with someone high up in the 12th man foundation. Like real high. He was was told by this person that overall we are happy with the direction of our programs "except for baseball. We will have to do something about that after the season."

According to this person we feel we have the best facilities in the SEC, and we want results to match. The key point was that if we do make a move we won't do it on a budget, this particular person has the means to ensure that by himself.

That's good to hear. I was worried we would just be content with making regionals all the time. We can achieve much more than that IMO

I don't like pooping on our stuff but those people clearly haven't seen what other schools have if they think we have the best baseball facilities. Our stuff is nice but it ain't top of the conference at all.

From what I got out of their conversation secondhand is that we are now comparing ourselves to the SEC programs and we want a SEC competitive baseball team.

Well that and apparently we really don't give a crap about basketball.

Agreed, I thought that was unusual.

But hey, if that is what raises our expectations so be it.

No, we don't.

We really need to redo Reed for more club seats to pull in the BMAs. I have a feeling that the upgrades at Blue Bell (especially the box seats) is part of what is driving the increase in our expectations.

I will take it though, would love a more competitive baseball program. This particular source usually doesn't throw stuff out like this so blatantly so I expect movement.

Hyman didn't tell him to "manage his expectations"?

We are upgrading Reed.

It was either Hyman, Kennedy, or Cook (I think it was Cook TBH) that said a while back on TA Radio they are going to start doing a ton of changes inside and out so it doesn't feel like a generic hospital building anymore.

the primary problem is most of the big money has zero expectations for hoops. We've been bad forever. Even the "glory" days of Shelby were pretty shitty. We only went to the NCAAs 5 times in 26 years ffs. We finished the year ranked 2 times in Shelby's reign. And that's our golden era to our big money?

When the classes from 2000+ begin giving real money, I think that will change. But until then it's hard to find many fricks to give among our donors, especially when football is heading in the right direction.
