All things considered, being such a shallow team already and Hogg being out, that was a great effort against an incredible team. We need Hogg for depth, but I'm continuing to question his overall contribution level.

A loss is a loss, but I was expecting a massacre, so nice to see the them make it a game.

It sure would be nice to see "that" Hampton show up the rest of the year.

We went into Morgantown without one of our best players and outshot then from the field, from deep, and from the line. We out rebounded them. We rejected more of their shots. We lost before we cannot take care of the damn basketball. They had took 8 more shots and 5 more FTs.

Yep, a lot of positives to take away from that game. Given their press, our lack of a point guard and our propensity for turning it over, I was expecting much worse.

I hate playing the what-if game, but I can't help but think about all the blown alley-oops. The miss by Miller was downright comical.

If JJ is eligible, we win that game.

fran frashcilla made them sound like they were bunnies, but 3 of the passes to williams were just awry. credit WVU pressure for that

Pat's major argument for this year is that we don't have enough depth, so we lose steam and fall apart late. My favorite part of that line of thinking is that about half of our losses have featured mid-game collapses that allowed the other team to go up 15+, and then massive, heroic comebacks in the waning minutes, when, according to pat, our poor, spent players should have been too tired to lift their arms above their heads

I like that we don't quit and I'm encouraged by some of our comebacks, but we should be better than we are. We should have beaten a couple of the top 50 opponents to which we lost (USC and Arky specifically), and we shouldn't have lost to some of the crap teams to which we did.

this season has been pretty disappointing in a lot of ways but let's not overstate things. We only have 1 loss to a team not currently in the top 50 in rpi. Our problem isn't bad losses, it's lack of quality wins. We're 1-8 vs top 50 rpi teams

Also, are you seriously suggesting we don't have depth issues?

Maybe you're right. Any guard would help. Gilder has been so much better even playing 40 mpg since some of the pg load has been lifted.

But Caldwell, a guy that has never played a minute of college ball, has turned into this mythical creature that fixes all our problems. He's gonna have to be Steph Curry to live up to the expectations people are making of him.
