We all know we're going to be terrible next year. Are we really going to spend the next year being miserable on this board? Just let it happen and find another hobby

Nah. We haven't been terrible since 2008 (or maybe 2009).

Well tbh if we are 6-0 and listed in the first cfp final 4
We'll rinse and repeat

Ricky is a good dude so I'm definitely rooting for him but I have to be honest and say if I was an NFL GM, I wouldn't be picking him. Measurables are cool and all, but I'm just not sure he has the mentality to ever be great

The only possible explanation I have is his family needs his UFA money.
he's going to get drafted. And RSJ actually played 4 years for us. He's graduating shortly. Time to get on with life.

you seriously need to buck up lil cowgirl.
This list is no more than our SRs, Myles, and RSJ. Nobody else of consequence is on it and anyone with a brain knew Myles was gone 3 years ago.
You can't seriously complain in one thread about how we're getting to scholarship numbers and then in another complain that guys buried on the depth chart are transferring.

And Myles would have been drafted out of high school if that were a thing lol...

Please define your term "mentality" re RSJ.

driven would be my best one word answer. Some guys have that singular focus to be the best of the best. He just doesn't seem to have it.

Well yeah, all those guys go to Bama.
(Joking)
(kinda)

I do think there's something to be said for that.
Picking which of two elite athletes have the non-athletic qualities to succeed is a huge factor in evals. Bama clearly excels at this.

I was more thinking about the fact that Bama can put forth a pretty hostile image to recruits (you might get processed, you will have a lot of competition at your position, you might get redshirted and wait to start, how their "offers" are bs, etc.) that creates a self-selection process where the 5 and 4 stars who want to challenge themselves are drawn there. Their recruiting process takes a toll on everyone else because if a five star picks your program over Bama you are questioning the guy's work ethic.
The way I see it, we nor anyone else in the sport can probably get away with recruiting at a high level acting like Nick Saban's Bama does. Until we have some real success we seem stuck in a position to sign whatever elite talent is willing to come here, and we have to play the game of promising playtime or getting to play a certain position or whatever other primadonna examples you can think of to get guys to sign with us.

Drops a lot of passes... to0 many for the NFL IMO. Doubt he goes before the 4th round and going in the 5th round or later wouldn't surprise me at all.

Isn't it a little early to start thinking about next year's fantasy football season? Just set up your league and draft at the end of August like everybody else does.

Olin Buchanan is now hinting that Jamal Jeffery will transfer. That leaves us with one upperclass wide receiver (Kirk). I'm not counting Ratley because he shouldn't be on the field to begin with.

Well Ratley is certainly better than Jeffery lol... I don't know that Ratley is that big of a drop off from Noil. He drops the ball too much, but at least he gets separation.
