Cruz

My problem with Cruz is that he is such an easy target for the democrats. He is essentially the real life version of the MSNBC republican caricature. Other than the fact that he isn't old and white, he meets just about every stereotype the left has of the GOP.

Rubio and Walker are probably the most centered of the right.

I like Rubio for several reasons. He answers the social questions honestly but doesn't make them the focus of his campaign. He says he thinks marriage is between a fan and woman, but then doesn't go off on a tangent about this nation losing god and becoming Sodom like Cruz. He isn't nearly as aggressive of immigration as most of the other candidates, which is important because that is a lost cause and every intelligent voter on both sides knows it. Any GOP candidate promising to lock the border down or deport all the illegals is just full of shite, like those who say they will repeal Obamacare. No, you won't because you can't.

He also is the ONLY GOP candidate other than Trump I have heard state my opinion on the matter: That we won't have the opportunity to bitch about moral issues in 50 years if we don't fix the economy.

He strikes me as a genuine fiscal conservative instead of the RINOs who only offer fiscal platitudes and pander to the wealthy voting base while ignoring the deficit. He was ranked as the 8th most fiscally conservative voter in the Senate the last couple of years. He was one of only about 5 republicans who had the balls to vote against the Hurricane Sandy relief bill, which was essentially an expensive liberal appeal to emotion that most republicans fell for. It effectively did nothing to help in a substantial way. He also stepped up and voted against the debt ceiling in 2011, one of only 19 republicans to do so.

Most importantly, and this is crucial, he is liked and respected by many of the democrats in Congress. He is known as a guy who is very pleasant to deal with from the other party's perspective, despite his very conservative voting record.

Don't really care. I'll do my due diligence on the GOP candidate who wins the nomination. I personally never saw the point in getting wrapped up in the primaries.

Also, he comes from the biggest swing state of them all. The republicans MUST win Florida to win in 2016.

The big issue with Rubio is that he ran as a tea party candidate then as soon as he got there he flipped the script and was one of the most pro amnesty republicans. He lost my political "trust".

And Huck dropped a sweet line about trust and vilify.

Agree with you on all points on Rubio and that's who I favor as well. I just want this pool to get trimmed down to the serious candidates

Jeb will take Florida, but he'll lose lots of votes because "we don't want another Bush in the White House".

Yeah, that sentiment alone will stymie him, unfortunately.

It is what it is.

He is so much better spoken and more polished than Dubya but I feel like nominating him would be punting on this election

None of it matters. You will all kneel before the hilldog.

But in the meantime I will enjoy all the conservative county cat fighting.

Understood, but I'm not a huge fan of the tea party and frankly given that every politician does shite like this I find that to be relatively minor in comparison. I mean, look at how much "switching" Hilary and Jeb have done over their careers.

The fact that he is a Hispanic who supports amnesty on a relatively limited basis (compared to the democratic candidates) is a nice change of pace as it at least forces the millions of auto-dem Hispanic voters to think for 2 seconds.

The fact is that the republican line of "deport all illegals/fence up the border" is nonsense that is not feasible. Amnesty on some level is the way to go, as most are good hardworking people who help keep costs in multiple industries down and are more useful to us economically than many of our own lazy arse trailer trash welfare lifers.

I think the democratic party is taking this election for granted and will be shocked by the number of middle ground voters and old-school democrats who vote for the GOP in 2016.

Hilary is just so notoriously untrustworthy and was caught in a MASSIVE clusterfrick during the email scandal. Many, many democrats simply detest her.
