Where would the future softball and track & field facilities be built, on West Campus?

(I so want to visit the A&M campus some day. It's just so far from DFW to go down and back the same day.)

everything but football and indoor track is now on west campus so I'm sure that's where these will be. But I don't think they have an official location for them yet.

Those are great pics. Things are really starting to shape up. Can't wait for the finished product!

It still amazes me that human beings can build things like this so quickly. As someone who knows very little about architecture and structural engineering, it's just awe inspiring to me how people can think through every tiny detail of this before the project even starts and have it go so smoothly and quickly.

Of course I say this as my dad, engineer of 35 years, is sitting next to me critiquing the alignment of the steel and the techniques being used in construction using words I absolutely do not understand

I got kicked off of TA back when they first started building McFerrin for saying (after looking at the plans) that we were building some half-arse white-trash bullshite that would be a major eyesore and that we'd all regret it. At the time everyone was a "no these are cutting edge, will look great, stack up nicely against our competition, etc"... Seems like the consensus opinion has changed just like I predicted. They're tents. Other schools have brick-facaded BUILDINGS, we erected circus tents. It's shameful.

Of course you did. There's not one combined engineering degree amongst their staff.

It makes me mad that we cut corners on something so prominently placed. BAYLOR has a brick indoor practice facility. Louisville has a brick facility. Auburn's is mostly just corrugated, but AT LEAST THAT LOOKS PERMANENT. Ours is probably the most prominently placed of any university but looks the second cheapest behind the bubble, although the bubble is at least less conspicuous.

Yeah if someone with a Chem E or PE degree landed a job as a mod on TA I think that would qualify as a pretty significant waste of an education

Definitely a waste of time and energy. Getting an engineering degree isn't a cake walk.
