The problem most rich people have is they think they know everything about everything because they are good at something. Most can't see their own blind spots (ie Jerry Jones)

I heard something very interesting right before this Kyler thing broke. I've been sitting on it to see if anyone else brings it out, so far nothing though. Made next year look not so bad

Have we not gone through enough?!?! If it's good, spit it. If it's not, please tell us everything is going to be ok

Well to be fair I tried to warn y'all about Kyler ahead of time

This was about staff changes, and it was without a doubt positive

he's played them all I think. He's been the swing guy. Last year he played H. This year he was Z and X. Labhard did that too.

But AMo moved people around a lot this year. I'm not sure if that's because we finally have a group of WRs that has been here and are comfortable enough to play multiple positions or if Beaty just didn't like to have them switch ever.

It's not a hard route tree but I know Holgo liked to have guys spend the first year learning just one position and perfect it. Then you could move the guy around after that.

It is when your (my) only experience with a football playbook is what you see on Madden.

Not really. Just describing what a lot of us started to notice once Johnny left.

Nah, it didn't hurt, and wasn't a hit piece or anything.

Pretty honest assessment. Especially summed up here:

Making that transition from recruiting to reality is not easy for any coach, but it has been particularly problematic at Texas A&M. Far too much talent brought to College Station on the premise of contending for national titles has either underperformed or left.

And yes, Kevin Murray is an arse. He has been sore towards A&M ever since we threw him under the bus when Jackie was busted in '88.

if he thinks he was thrown under the bus he is delusional and I'll just leave it at that.

Sumlin did wrong by letting the Murrays cloud his judgement in the first place

Shoulda been Kyle Allen all the way with Hubenek as backup and Kyler redshirting

And he shoulda demoted Spav after last season, not bring him back for more weak playcalling

Don't be an ungrateful dick. It wasn't that easy to win the SWC every year.

Agree with both points. It's poor judgment by Sumlin, on and off the field.

here's a simple diagram of the air raid receivers if it helps. They are always the same routes (the X is always left and the Z always right

So THAT'S why defenses seem to know what Spav is doing every time.

You know what is awesome Sarge? It doesn't really change anything. I mean, Sumlin's program has been building towards 2016 ever since we dropped the game to Auburn in 2013. 2016 was always the make or break year for him, and now the stage is set for something epic either way.

What I appreciate, what I will always appreciate, is how relevant Sumlin made us. A Texas fanbase that claimed to not give two shits about us in say 2007 now have a 61 page thread on their forum about Kyler leaving. The Rant was dominated with A&M threads yesterday (and not just because of the Chavis lawsuit news), and Kyler leaving was picked up by legit national media NBC Sports, USA Today, ESPN, Fox Sports, etc. For most of my time as an Aggie (started in 2003) no one would have given two shits about us having a freshman QB who looked completely overmatched on the field transfer. But right now it is national news.

If we do well next year the spotlight is already on us, the stage is set for a great ending to all the drama. Here's to my Arkmates that the final act of this play is at least entertaining.
