Not a bad thing really from our perspective. Briles is the TCU foil that Charlie can't be, and we need a TCU foil to keep them from going full 80's Miami. Best case is that Baylor still gets hyped for the TCU game and beats them (ruining a perfect season for TCU) but gets distracted by the circus and drop a game they shouldn't themselves at some point (ruining any Big 12 team making the playoffs for a second year in a row).

is anything really going to happen here?

Y'all are way too focused on the football aspect. I neither know nor GAF on that end. This is not the NCAA. There are systemic issues inside the university that violated federal law. Will something happen here? Absolutely. The only real question is how severely will they be punished.

It could be limited to McGraw being fired and blaming everything on her. But everyone is required Title IX training annually. Therefore everyone who knew he was indicted and did nothing could be culpable (I would argue should but that's an opinion). Tbh, thinking about this more, I'm not sure how Starr survives. There's really no way to pass the buck here given there wasn't even a Title IX Coordinator as is required by law.

If Starr and other higher ups at Baylor get fired it will be the beginning of the end for Briles regardless of what happens to him in this case.

He will be on thin ice w/whoever replaces the outgoing administration and any little screw up will be magnified to the Nth degree in order to help clean up this PR disaster.

I want to believe he's a better person than that. But I'm always surprised by how low people can be.

sad part is that he didn't have to be a good person to kick someone convicted of rape off the team, much less have em around campus, and holy shite, going to the same class as the victim.

i'm all wtf'd out about the whole thing.

all briles had to do was not be a complete piece of shite. all this time i just thought he was kind of a piece of shite.

I just remember hearing things from when he was in Stephenville, rumors yes but generally where there's smoke there's fire.
