The fact that these murders are about to be politicized to all hell and immortalize the shooter makes me sick. Our country has a serious violence problem that we really need to face in a real manner. There's no room for nuance in today's world, just lots of instant black/white reactions. Nothing will get any better any time soon I don't think.

TexAgs is the worst possible representation of A&M. Full of privileged shitkicker dickheads who have misinformed and terrible opinions. The last thing I need today is to see what those dolts have to say.

All in all, murder rates are actually on the decline.
In my mind, the current problem is the national media giving these psychopaths the platform and recognition they seek. The more clicks that video gets, the more that monster wins.
I think it seems like violence is quickly escalating because of how "flat" the world is today. 30 years ago we may have not even heard about this.

I also think there's a problem with how our national media reacts to shite like this. Am I the only one who doesn't think this story would be as big as it is if A) we didn't have a video of it and B) if a young white woman wasn't the one being gunned down?

Personally, I'm fine with the coverage of the story...but I wish it was more along the lines of remembering the two reporters, instead of making the murderer famous. The only reason the guy shot the video is because he knew the national media would pick it up and run with it. He's getting what he wanted
