We've been "young" since 2003.

I've always been skeptical of the OL with Manziel. Running QBs always make OLs look good, because they force the DL to sit in containment. If it was such a great OL, why was Manziel running for his life so much?

With pretty much the same OL (but a year younger) in 2011, we gave up 9 sacks the entire year, good for #3 in the nation.

That OL was studly, running QB or not.

For reference, we gave up 23 the next year, and are on pace to give up 40 this year.

Johnny wasn't "running for his life", he ran because he could.

Tannehill hardly ever got touched in 2011 with pretty much the same line.

We're top 15 with a young offense and a young defense.

I don't understand the angst, and I definitely do not agree that we're "a long, painful journey" away.

We've "been young" for years, if you think we are anywhere close to the talent and depth of the top SEC teams, you really need to take another look. The stars have aligned for us to be doing as well as we are, it's going to take a few more years and we are now to the point where we have to win 10 a year to pull in the talent to catch up.

uhhh our defense line is easily one of the best in the conference. Not to mention we have very talented wide receivers and quarterback. We have a bad offensive line, our running back situation is poor, and same for our linebackers but let's not act like there isn't talent when there are NFL players all over this roster

Yes, and that year, a grand total of 3 B12 members had sack numbers in the top 30, and one of those teams was us. B12 defense sucked in 2011 as bad as it does now. Maybe worse.

Talented depth we do not have, at least not to the point of Bama,LSU,Florida and Georgia, I'm sorry but it's not there.

Except it is. Especially along the defensive line and at the wide receiver

B12 defense was markedly worse.

For WR and DL, yeah, it is there. And we have a top 3 QB in the SEC.

We hurt at RB, OL, and LB. You know what? Bama has major problems with OL too. LSU doesn't have a QB, and OM might as well not field an RB.

Nope, the 2012, 2013 and 2015 Mississippi schools were/are pretty par for the course. 2014 was the only outlier for both and guess what, both blew us out. Which just furthers my point.

Wrong.

Ole Miss has a .547 win% before Freeze. With Freeze, they have a .630 win%.

MSU has a .465 win% prior to 2012. Beginning in 2012 until today, they have a .650 win%.

They aren't just clearly better than their historical performance, they are dramatically better.

So far Sumlin is 5-2 total at both Mississippi programs' historical peaks. Consider that Miles at LSU is also 5-2 vs the Mississippi schools over the same 4 year period (OM left to play for both). Saban is 5-2 as well.

Really, we have several 5 stars that don't see the field, bullshite. We are building it but we don't have it yet, y'all take off the maroon colored glasses and look at this shite objectively. I'm not trying to be a downer I have been an Aggie fan longer than most of you have been alive, but I'm a realist and we aren't there yet.

You're totally wrong about this - to the point that you're exposing your intention here to just be a blind hater/downer. The Beaver and Mullin have checked-in waaaaay above average performances for each school.

if you can't see the talent we have right now at the defensive line, wide receiver, and QB then I have no idea what to tell you

OU (#9 nationally in sacks).... ZERO vs A&M
SMU (#20).... ZERO sacks vs A&M
OSU (#29).... 2 sacks vs A&M
Arkansas (#33).... ZERO sacks vs A&M
Texas (#33).... 1 sack vs A&M

That's 5 good pass rushes, and 3 sacks in 223 pass attempts (1.3% sack rate)

Where did I say I we don't have talent, I'm talking about talented depth at all positions, yeah we have some but we don't have enough. We have no linebackers our secondary is marginal, the oline is putrid, we don't know what we have at RB cause all of them but Tra are hurt. So please tell me how we are equal to the top of the SEC.
