Well recruits don't flick to 7-5

We will win 9 and a bowl, that will show recruits the progress

After a 7-6 year in 2011 we signed a five star RB. The problem is that Sumlin is running out of credibility rope. That is my opinion at least.

And note I am not saying he is done for, just saying we can't keep looking at 2016 as the year when Sumlins regime comes together.

I want a natty BAD.

But I also remember the years of consistent 9 win seasons and annual arse kicking we dealt tu before Fran and recognize that those can be good times and feel successful as well.

I think you have to define "coming together" Think Richt, a strong consistent always contending A&M will keep recruiting strong enough. 2012 was a fluke, a wonderful glorious fluke with the best qb and WR combo possible. But if we can go 9-3 this year and then perform at that level consistently, we are doing well enough, and when the right magical players enter the next time, we'll claim that natty.

Remember Auburns last 3 year cycle and that the mighty LSU just went 8-4 and lost it's best coach.

Hamm has completely thrown Sumlin and his staff under the bus, saying this is the most recent in a long line of recruitments in which they have been outworked. 247 is all in on the "Sumlin is a lazy recruiter" angle.

It's a delicious melt over there right now.

I think that's bs, little is probably set to be the #1 texas recruit and is very desirable to programs that are, to be frank, more desirable than we are right now.

At least the kid had the stones to decommitt

I think yall really just need a good season this year and the recruiting will continue to be the best in the state (unless Texas gets back on its feet which doesn't look likely this year). Murray will stay in Little's ear, and improvement on the defensive side of the ball will be key, but I don't see a reason A&M won't finish in the top 10 of this recruiting class if they get 9 wins this year.

You just went full aggy. I really hope our players don't think the same way as some of our fan base.

I've long felt that this has been a reason for underachieving within the football program. There simply isn't the same freakout over mediocre seasons as there would be at other programs.

I believe that Aggies by and large are a thoughtful and reasonable bunch who recognize what their priorities in life should be, and consequently a mediocre football season isn't the be all end all like it is at a place like Alabama/Lsu etc. therefore, coaches are tolerated for longer than they might be elsewhere (this isn't sumlin or even football specific btw). IMHO.

Hopefully with the significant investment into the football program more will be demanded by all.

mediocre seasons

Who is saying this?

I am willing to accept and enjoy, not tear down a program that is having good success with above average seasons. Knowing that perfect seasons will come when all the pieces are in place.

Y'all seriously want to fire Sumlin if he goes:
9-3
10-2
10-2
9-3

Over the next 4 years????

What if he also wins 4 more bowl games? Do we fire him then?

How Aggy is it I have common sense?

It's just one guy. Who says that in the end he doesn't wind up at A&M?

Saban/Meyer probably told him he had to decommit to OV. OV's are where it's at.

We have to win 9 or more to have a shot at him.

9 wins 60%

10 wins 80%

11 wins 95%

If we're talking about football, I'm not sure what fan base you're talking about. I have never met a single A&M football fan who is ok with mediocre football, and certainly not an A&M football fan who puts serious money into the program who is ok with mediocre football. Going all the way back to Bellard, which coach did we stick with for too long? How do you explain the move to go get Jackie and pay him what we did? And the move to go get Fran? (Which everybody and their dog thought was a homerun at the time). And if so much of the fan base is ok with mediocrity, how do you explain the move to the SEC and the investment in the stadium?
