Get yer eyes up.

Speaking of consol, and recruiting, whatever happened with Riley Garner the linebacker? Was his injury a career ending one? Is he supposed to play at some point at a&m?

I believe he's expected to play

Wasn't this a concussion that kept him out all season? Doesn't seem like the greatest idea to play SEC football at linebacker after suffering a head injury that took 4 months to recover from.

To be honest, I don't remember the details. All I remember is an article saying he is expected to play...but I agree with you. Head injuries aren't something to mess with

from bobby

Texas has its work cut out for it with Malik Jefferson.

I'm hearing that Jefferson has been impressed by Texas but that there simply may be too much ground to be made up.

In fact, according to a college coach from another team that has recruited both players, Jefferson and teammate DeAndre McNeal have been primarily considering A&M and UCLA, not Texas, for the past two weeks.

According to the coach, Texas actually asked Jefferson to come in for a visit next week but Jefferson had already scheduled UCLA.

Texas has layed its cards on the table with Jefferson this weekend, including some compelling evidence about how they coach and why Charlie Strong has sent so many linebackers into the NFL well prepared.

We'll see in the coming days if it was enough or too little too late.

Burton has been saying Texas all along but then posts something like this. Malik is in Austin this weekend so I think this is pretty meaningful.

Reminds me of something a friend told me a while back - guys like Mack and Sumlin, they make recruiting analysts. If you are reporting for a school and your coach is an elite closer, you get to be sunshine and puppy dogs, all your predictions look good and you get lots of subscribers.

When they suck as closers, you look like an idiot over and over for saying you lead for a player and he commits to your rival school as soon as he's offered.

IF Kirk, Malik, and Mcneal all commit the 17th and 19th we jump back to #2 in recruiting rankings with a 281.4 on 247, with two 5 stars in three days.

Who else announces soon? Kendall Bussey, Ricky Deberry...?

If you ad bussey and deberry, were at a 288 with bama leading at 295. Obviously I don't think we get all of them, but a DC will likely be announced before the dead period, we could have a lot of positive momentum.

early feedback on maliks visit from both 247 and OB is that it wasn't good enough. both ketch and bobby think we still lead

Burton stated less than a week ago he thought Texas led and he still has a prediction of Texas plugged in. He talks out of both sides of his mouth but that's just odd to me. Talk about hedging.

Will be interesting to see if he announces on the 19th if we don't have a DC announced yet.

Also of note, TA was melting because Daylon started following all the Texas coaches this weekend. Hopefully nothing more than Daylon being Daylon

They were also melting because Daylon plans to take an OV to LSU. Of course if I were a 5* recruit from Texas I'd take a visit there too.

They melt if "we tonight" isn't on every thread.
