Regarding some of people's complaining to a recruit's apparent fickleness/dishonesty...

You need to take yourself away from recruiting. It is a total game, full of kids not old enough to know exactly what they want, and occasionally not old enough how not to take their recruitment more seriously.

It goes both ways- big time football programs/coaches mislead recruits and players on their rosters all the time in the name of winning. Kids get misled by schools/coaches, are penalized like hell if they try to transfer, etc.

Anyone who gets their panties in a wad about how these kids "shouldn't have lied to us" need to realize that this is basically the only time they have power to position their career.

I can't comprehend how people feel bad for their football team when a kid changes his mind, or is even a little twat if that's the case.

Damn, can't believe this thread is still going. All I wanted to know is why his switch was so disappointing.. I guess because he seemed an AU lock and switched during the dead period?

I have nothing bad to say about the young man. He seems like a nice kid.

Matheson: dude, you pretty much suck at this internet sports board stuff.

It was the timing if the switch and the fact that he did not tell our coaches, had his HS coach do it as soon as the dead period started. It is not that he switched, that happens all the time, it is how it was done.
His HS coach is a Bama fan and seemed to be heavely involved in this and had a major role in not only the switch but the announcement and timing. He is a POS. , the player is a HS kid.

All that being true, you can still not let the decisions of high school kids effect your life while, at the same time, observe correctly the weasely little immature acts of high school kids.

One does not preclude the other.
