Probably. His guardians are huge Auburn fans. Too early to tell for sure though.

Andrew Bone said last night that Alabama doesn't have room for him in this class.

He wasn't sure if they would even offer.

Pretty early to call a lock. Whoever gets him is going to get a kid with an awesome upside. I think switching to this year's class probably gives Auburn and edge atm, but who knows?

Garner is supposedly visiting him tonight.... I'd say he's a priority if our DL coach is visiting the day after the dead-period ended.

Seriously, if his listings on 247 are accurate, this kid is likely a bust. You can't be 6'8" 250 pounds and play DE. He would be very skinny and too tall to be effective.

That being said, I'm going to assume that's not accurate. There is a reason we are bringing him in for a visit.

6'8 250lb freshman is a bust? Thoughts like these may be the reason why yall live in the bottom half of the conference

Please, show me a single great Deffensive end who is that tall. He would have to be 300 pounds to have adequate muscle to support his frame.

Julius Peppers is 6'7 287 lbs. Not a stretch to think a kid with that frame is going to out on a good bit of weight.

Hasn't Chris Jones gained like 40 lbs since leaving hs?

Wasn't the kid from Oregon a top ten pick with the same measurables?

Exactly, you have to go back 40 years, at which point the game and physical condition of athletes isn't even comparable.

Julius Peppers is 6'7, 290lbs, and was the #2 overall pick in the draft. Was the Defensive Rookie of the year, 8x pro-bowler, 3x 1st team All-Pro, 3x 2nd team All-Pro, the 2004 Defensive player of the year, the career sack leader and career force fumble leader at Carolina, and a member of the 2000s all decade team.

It's almost as if you don't think a 17 year old kid who moved here from Nigeria can't add weight once introduced to a proper college nutrition and weight regime. Do you think he's already maxed out his potential from his time in Nigeria and his time spent at a small time HS in Alabama?

Seriously, are you truly this dense?

ETA: Jason Talyor & Jared Allen are 6'6. Mario Williams is 6'7.

So it's reasonable to say that at 6'8", he needs to be 300 pounds. So he needs to gain 50 pounds of quality muscle mass, and even then he's playing at a near unprecedented height. It would take an incredible amount of skill and discipline to utilize that length without having it used against you.

I'm not going to say it's impossible, just that I think it's a long shot and will take time.

Do you have any idea how long it takes to develop 50 pounds of quality muscle mass? A kid putting on 15 in a year is impressive, if he wants to play as a redshirt sophomore he would need to gain 20 a year in his first two to get to 290.
