Meh, he still sucks. Notice that he never gets on the field except in special team situations (to my knowledge, at least).

Yeah, it would be.

Speaking of which, who is going to be in charge of D. Williams at AU...and what guys have they produced? Are we going to be saying the same thing about D. Williams?

If Charlie Baggett was still the WR coach at TN, he would have been terrifying. He was part of the reason Hunter and Rogers were so good as Sophomores. Hunter regressed under Hinshaw in my opinion.

ETA: Sorry for derailing the thread here, this isn't CP's thread.

No, I was still hurting from the FL loss so i gave the tix to a cousin who had never been to Neyland before. That game made me wanna puke too. I hate Dooley way more than Kiffin now.

It's funny all of these comparisons to CP. I understand the reason they're being posted as he's the most recent one-and-doner from the JUCO ranks to thrive in the SEC, but everyone should know this.

It's borderline insulting to Williams to compare him to CP coming out of JUCO. He's so far and away a superior WR prospect it's not even funny. CP has the athletic tools that make you drool, but Williams is as polished a WR prospect since Julio/Green.

I've watched this kid be the best player in LA since his junior year in high school. It was funny, you could always tell who really followed LA HS football by whether they had Williams on their list or not. 95% of this board didn't have a clue who he was because everyone knew he'd never qualify so the recruiting sites never featured him.

He's a freak of nature, the GOAT WR to come out of LA, and it's not even remotely close.

Wow, GOAT wr from La. Hope the kid can live up to that.

It's not borderline insulting to anyone to be compared to a 1st round draft pick.

He could end up being better than CP, but the fact remains, Williams is untested. CP has already proven he's an elite talent.

The OP's question was how he compares to CP and other great JUCO WR's. Since that was the question, that's who he's going to be compared to.

Watch and see. He's unproven to yal who haven't seen him. To everyone who has he just hasn't had the opportunity to showcase his talents.

The kid is incredible.

He's unproven because he hasn't played a snap of college football.

That is also true, hopefully he'll qualify and get the chance. Since UT plays AU this year, UT probably won't have to go against him. I hope he qualifies so I get a chance to watch him.

His qualifying problems weren't because he made bad grades, it was because half of his grades were lost because his HS was not accredited. He's on track to graduate and enroll early. And I'm pretty sure Tennessee will play at Auburn in 2014

They pull Auburn 2 years in a row out of the west?

That means they pull the same 2 teams from the west 2 years in a row, since UT plays Bama every year. Is that even possible?

ETA: I don't think that's possible because every team plays 6 division games, 1 cross division rival (Bama and UGA in our case), and the other cross division game rotates. Since we pull AU this year, we'll get someone else in 2014.

I tried looking it up and one of the websites said we'd play, but I'm pretty sure you're right. Thanks

This makes a lot of sense...he was/is like a huge massive slashing RB at WR but part of that was his extremly raw technique

DW is already better off the LOS and runs tight routes gets a step and like D.Thomas can absolutely maul any DB, if AU gets him 2 years ESPECIALLY if he is an EE it's really gonna be scary what he could accomplish. He is a lot more polished and tight with routes etc

I also like the Dez comparison but he is a bit more precisive with his routes than Dez that's why I sat D.Thomas, because he is big, physical, fast & knows how to run routes and catch with his whole body, that's DW too

agreed that's why I didn't mention CP, he was so raw

DW is a lot more true WR less posession more rounded

i don't want to derail the thread, but you seem well educated on Louisiana players and I was curious your thoughts on the 4 LA kids Arkansas picked up this weekend.

I think they both progressed being in the NFL, neither had natural route running abilities because their collegiate offenses didn't ask for a expansive tree of routes. Thomas is faster than both, which alters his game in comparison. He runs more screens to take advantage of it.
