Over the last 8 games of the regular season, when Ingram was clearly improving, Ridley averaged about 4 more inches per carry than Ingram. What a substantial difference between the two

They're both average running backs, and there next contracts will reflect that

That is possible. Both are in systems that spread the wealth. Last year was Ridley's first real opportunity as a "feature back" if you can even call it that while Ingram was suppose to be that from Day 1. If Ridley's trajectory goes up this year, I think he has a good chance of cashing in and earning more than Ingram because at this point I would be surprised if Ingram had a breakout year. With only one real year under his belt, however, Ridley still has a lot to prove.

Of course, this thread has now been hijacked.

Ridley is a beast. Ingram is good, but he has too mass right now.

Dude needs to slim down IMO. Looks like a FB out there.

When he's not fumbling the ball, perhaps.

If both of their careers continue down these to diverging paths, their is no possible way that Ridley won't be paid a substantially larger contract than your' boy, Mark Ingram.

Possibly, but it probably won't be a big enough difference to make up for the difference between their first contracts.

meh

he is too small, too slow, too everything really. He is always just about to break a long run and gets tripped up for a 3 yard gain. I think he is just happy to collect a big check and go back to Bama every weekend he can to be the NFL equivalent of the 21 year old who parties with high schoolers at keg parties wearing his letterman jacket.

The propaganda machine doesn't want to bring up how well Ingram played in the second half of the season last year, but I guess that's to be expected

lol what???

4.15 ypc over the 2nd half of the season. 4 of his last 6 games under 4 ypc, 3 of his last 6 games under 2.8 ypc. He also contributed 3 catches for a total of 7 yards of those 8 games.

I can't believe these nazis are not letting the people know that the fat midget has arrived.

Like it or not, but Alabama is the new USC when it comes to recruiting. If Saban really wants a player and spends the necessary time to land him, Alabama will always be a threat. You have to understand the mentality of a 17 year old high school kid. They wear whatever is the coolest clothing, coolest rims, play the coolest music, etc. Right now Alabama is the coolest program in the country.

I think he goes to LSU, but Alabama will be in this till the end.

If he stays in New England he very well might not get the huge contract, Belichick knows the system works with about 3 different backs he has on the roster, Ridley is just one

It wasn't a stand out wow season like Doug Martin had this season or Jamaal Charles for the Chiefs, it was pretty good though

And again it doesn't matter, once a player gets to the NFL they get tremendously better coaching and have to fit in the system nothing they did in college matters anymore

+1 - NE is never going to give a RB a big contract.

MD on th radio said that MI biggest problem is the formation the saints were running g him out of and that he is being used as a short yardage back while THOMAS and Sproles are used out of formations where the pass has to be defended. I don't know if that is correct but I hope Mark is successful regardless of where he came from. He was always a good kid it seemed and he was a great representative for the university.

not at all true Adam

Best back production wise is obviously Sproles since he is a speedy elusive guy with slot WR type ability

2 yrs ago he led the Saints in rushing (Ingram led the team this past yr but I'm sure you know that) I think it is the staffs vision this yr to run the ball more and use Ingram in more formations, not just ones that tip a D to the run

I expect him to have a lot better yr this yr with Payton back, they would've cut him if they still didn't believe in him, and if he struggles again this year then they obviously will cut him
