Since both of those walk-on's played in every game this year (up until the point where one messed up his knee) maybe you should explain "the process" if it does not include players on the field.

The process: the means to rid your program of players who count against the 85 scholarship limit but aren't living up to the football end of the scholarship bargain. Like I said, walk-ons and HS players don't cost Saban anything. It is the players that do cost him something that get tossed to the curb.

I guess maybe if as many of his players had gotten arrested in recent years as richt has you'd think he was a good disciplinarian? as long as he talked about Jesus a lot?

face it dude. saban is one of the most revered disciplinarians in the business, and it shows in the way his players conduct themselves, especially if you compare his methods to someone like richt. he cares just as much about molding men of character as he does winning or what the media says about his religion. I'm sorry you can't see this.

No, what you said that I called BS on was

quote:

I have never heard Saban talk about any player other than his star players and only those when there is a reason- like a Heisman campaign or recruiting. So yeah, he may be a disciplinarian, and he certainly is a great football coach, but let's be honest here. He doesn't give a shite for anyone outside the process

And I gave you two specific examples of players he has spoken VERY highly of this year. If you are going to spew bull shite at least try to remember what you said.

I never said Saban wasn't a disciplinarian. However, as you hear about UGA's suspensions because they actually DO punish them no matter how ridiculous the arrest charge is ( exiting an alley, anyone?), then I have never had any cause to really say that UGA doesn't follow through on their discipline policies. Regardless, I am no bible-thumper, and I couldn't care less that Richt is really into his religion. However, I really do like the fact that he is genuinely into watching his guys grow up. I enjoy that his family shares in his triumphs and losses on the field. I appreciate that when asked to coach PItt a year or two before UGA, he asked his wife whether she could see them being happy there for years to come. He declined it when they were honest with themselves that they would not be, and it would only be a stopover. Richt and Saban are two very different people and coaches. Recruits may very well choose one of the other because of those differences, and that is fine with me. However, you are being disingenuous with yourself if you truly think that Saban is anything but a highly motivated football coach who when everything is said and done can only truly equate triumph in life with the results on the field and in the bank account.

How is it spewing BS when just about every documented action in Saban's career speaks to the opposite? Nick Saban hasn't made it past 5 years at any job he has every held. Bama should feel proud. If he doesn't get the itch to leave town in the offseason, he will make a sixth year in Tuscaloosa. Considering that fact, you are right , he actually has been around to see at least one recruited class graduate at every stopover. Well, at least the 10 or so that made it to graduation on scholarship.

You mean the 17 seniors on the roster? You seem very angry about this. I guess you're all alone for the holidays. It must be terrible to not be loved. I'll pray for your poor dejected soul.

nothing you're saying is in any way based in fact. you're just regurgitating tired media conjecture about him being some kind of sociopathic robot. there's a reason he's the best recruiter in the business. players want to play for him. a big part of that is that they recognize that he cares about what's in their best interest. that and he's probably the most revered disciplinarian in the history of sports.
