Right there. Everyone can speculate but Hurd wanted UT and from everything out there I will speculate that it was the uncertainty of who the HC would be not CDD. Hurd wanted to go to UT but wanted to be a part of a successful program. I would wager if CDD would have turned it around in 2012 Hurd would still be in this class.
Kelly's parents would have not let him go to UA for football.

If Dooley had a good 2012, then yes, Hurd my have committed.
Kelly May not have went to bama, he wouldn't have went to UT either

I should take your advise & not respond but instead I'll just post the simple objective ranking that gives a true sense of how each SEC team did. Composite Average Rankings:
1. Alabama 93.68
2. LSU 92.33
3. Texas A&M 91.36
4. Georgia 90.97
5. Auburn 90.23
6. Florida 89.61
7. Tennessee 89.34
8. USCe 88.85
9. Ole Miss 88.19
10. Kentucky 86.68
11. Arkansas 85.77
12. Miss St. 84.77
13. Missouri 84.20
14. Vandy 83.66
No need to argue quality vs. quantity.
No need to cherry pick the Top 5, 10, 20, 30 or whatever.
Conclusion, middle tier SEC Class, vast improvement over last year. Congrats!

Congrats! On being slow. Of course if you average the over 30 commits it's gonna bring down the average. The fact is, the meat of this class is a good as any team in the top 5 other than bama. Obviously taking over 30 players the last few aren't all gonna be 4 stars,but keep ignoring facts and believe what you want

The whole point is that you will not be with the big boys until the meat of your class is for the most part your entire class because everybody else will be reloading next year & I don't think y'all will be able to sign 30+ every year.
Have a similar Top 20 with a class of 25-27 & I'll be right there to

Dude how about swallow your pride and give credit where it is due. Just admit the VOLS landed a damn good class coming off straight losing seasons. If the VOLS weren't on the come up people would be saying what a great class it is. But te fear in people is what makes them react in such a negative way. Just like how complimentary people are of Kentucky's class. Those compliments will turn into snotty remarks once KY lands back to back to back top 5 - 10 classes and people realise they are rising. I also realise people like to hate TN because it wasn't too long ago they were TN's bitch. I grew up a college football fan in the 90's. Never had a total favorite team. But I remember TN whippin bama, lsu, uga, USCe arse regularly. So it's pretty easy to get all the hate from the fans on here lol... It's funny. Because the fans of those teams can't tell nuetral fans can see why they have that hatred for TN lol.. I live in Georgia and you wouldn't think their fans were alive in the 90's the way they talk about TN. Cuz i would've dropped $100,000 on TN just about every matchup they had in the 90's. But they win a few games against TN and TN is just a terrible shithole program lol. I seem to recall BAMA not being shyt in th 90's. These teams talk now like TN is nothing and can never get back to being dominant. It's pretty funny too watch.

No the funny part is UT fans every year for the past few years come out and say next season is ours and we are coming back. Heard it with the hire of Kiffin, then Dooley, and now Jones. Same shite different day.
What makes this thread so funny is multiple things. One someone trying to compare UT's class with UA or some of the other classes ahead of them in the rankings because they use quantity not quality in their number defense. Two trying to compare it to UA's class in 08. Three trying to compare what Jones is doing to what Saban did in 08. Four the need to come on here and start threads because the insecurity is to much to just sit back and let things unfold. So a UT fan comes on here demanding attention by starting the thread and will defend it when it does not get the approval response he had hoped for.

Meh, most think that 6-7 wins is our ceiling next year but I expect our class to be as good or better than this years. VOLS are off to a very strong start again.

I have said bamas class is better than ours. And I'm cool with that. But, the fact is there were a ton of people on here saying we had no chance at a top ten class. They were very wrong. Those same people are ITT trying to shite on this class, although the numbers prove them wrong. I guess that crow doesn't taste good going down.
