You're trying to piss us off mostly, and it's not working very well.

Laughing actually, we'll see if Dooley's bitch can develop them.
"Dooley's Bitch," as nice as that is, is a misnomer. UT had an NFL offense in that game (Hunter, Rivera, Rogers, Bray) against a Big Ten Defense. Could've happened to anyone given the same circumstances, Including your precious Urban Meyer.

Good question. With all we lost on the lines and the fact we have 14 that entered early, I think the number could be high.

Sort how I feel because about the only time UT's class came up on here was when a UT fan started a thread about them one time being ranked #1 when UT already had like 25 recruits committed and everyone else just a handful. Besides that not much of a mention.
I give Jones credit great class but in all reality the high ranking even Dooley would have gotten this year. Kelly and Bates along with a few others were all legacies that would have been at UT even if Dooley stayed. Hurd is from TN and was already leaning to UT under Dooley but only waited to commit because of the uncertainty of Dooley being fired and waiting for the replacement. So Jones really did not do anything to get those guys. Malone for whatever reason in the end seem to not get the attention by the time he committed from other schools except UT. Mosley really had no other option except UT in the end. It great to see UT keep the instate kids but Jones did not do much for the top part of the class coming in. He did do a great job for the rest of the class.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Sadly it will be the last time players in that class are top ten in anything.

Hopefully yall can field a decent team since you filled your 2deep roster practically....maybe go 500 this year

Remember 2007, when Saban took over at Bama and went 7-6? The following year, how many kids did he sign? I believe it was 32 (with an average star ranking of 3.72, according to Rivals). This year, Butch signed 32 players with an average star ranking of 3.54.
Not quite as good as Saban's '08 class, but still following the template of trying to infuse good, young talent as quickly as possible. The main difference is that Dooley left UT in a deeper hole than Shula did at Bama.

But Jones is not the coach Saban is. Not trying to be a homer but what Saban can do with talent Jones has yet shown he can. Both places prior to coming to UT he inherited teams from Kelly that were loaded and coming off great seasons. When Jones arrived at Cincy they just finished their 2nd BCS bowl in 2 years and finished the regular season ranked #3 in the country.
And I love how UT fans love to throw Dooley under the bus and I am not saying he was a good coach, but UT's roster issues that Jones is dealing with actually improved under Dooley who inherited a train wreck dating back to probably the last few years under Fulmer. Dooley may not of brought in the stellar classes but he did clean up the program and get rid of the dead weight that Fulmer and Kiffin had there and brought some discipline to the program. Saban inherited that garbage from Shula where Jones only had to infuse talent.
Again Jones did well recruiting this year and it helped to have so many high ranked legacies and him keeping the best instate, but he still has to show he can win on the field and if UT only wins 5 or 6 this fall you can bet the praises Jones is receiving from fans now will quickly change.

When Jones arrived at Cincy, Pitt was the only team in their conference with fewer returning starters from the prior year. They lost a ton of talent, including their record setting starting QB.
When Jones arrived at UT, he took over a program that finished 5-7 the prior year, only winning 5 games by outscoring people with a high powered offense. From that offense, they lost 4 NFL draft picks, including one that would make the Pro Bowl as a rookie. They also lost their starting QB. He inherited the worst defense in the school's history, and an offense that had lost all of its weapons.
That is complete B.S. to say that Doolely inherited more talent than Saban.

TN signed a great class this year. I think most Vols would admit they ran into some luck with a deeper in-state class and some nice legacy recruits as well. It will be interesting to see how TN does in recruiting this year, and if they are able to follow up on a great year for TN recruiting (they are off to a fast start, even though I don't put a ton of stock into that). TN needs to win 7-8 this year, so they can show they are moving in the right direction. Anything less than that, and teams will start negatively recruiting them, saying there's no improvement in site. I think Butch gets it done and wins 7-8 though. Good luck this year TN fans.

Players on that 08 class won 3 BCS titles. You trying to compare them to that class?

It is easy to say that it was an unbelievable class 4 years after the fact. The truth is, Alabama had no idea how good that class would be...and nobody knows how good this UT class will be.
Let's take a closer look at the history of events...there was a Bama poster making fun of UT's class ranking because of the number of signees. I pointed out that it was the exact same size as the '08 class and was rated a few points lower.
I never said that this class would be as successful as Bama's '08 class...only that signing a large class of players who could play early was the template that Saban set in '08 and it worked for him.
