So you got it from an Arkansas sports talk show where probably 90% of his listeners are Razorback fans and would light up his phones with glee upon hearng this comment from their head coach? Gotcha.

Pretty sure this is the exact same thing you hear from every fanbase when a prized instate recruit goes elsewhere. Nothing groundbreaking here.

Fan base and Head Coach are two totally different things.

This is not going to go well for Bielemia.

Does he really think being exiled from Arkansas is going to strike fear in anyone?

HS Head Coaches look out for their players regardless. Think they liked this?

Welcome to the 7 months ago. You do know he said that the day he was hired and not yesterday don't you?

Since that statement was made.

2013 Class
Everybody but Tencent went to Arkansas, and that had nothing to do with Bielema. He only had a few months with the kid.

2014 Class
Everybody in the state we have offered has committed, excluding Frazier, and I still think he stays home.

2015 Class
One of the best QB's in the country in that class is from Arkansas and committed.

Yep Bielema sure is burning those bridges. Good gosh are all Gumps as dumb as Updyke?

I don't care when he said it. it is a strange stance to openly have, considering Arkansas relies heavily on kids to do just what he's saying in-state kids shouldn't. Nevermind he was once a kid that did just that.

It's an actual quote. I don't care what you think about the guy delivering said quote.

And yet here we are 7 months later and instate recruiting.is going just fine. Not to mention that the HS coaches love him. His blitz the state campaign was a huge hit with those guys.

I don't have much of an opinion about Bo. My comment is about why he used the quote. It fires his listeners up. Nevermind the fact the kids like it, it would seem.

Frankly, I wish Mizzou could lock up our state as well as Arky has theirs.

Bielema is just being honest and letting the kids know how it is. He's not speaking specifically for himself, he's talking about how a kid that chooses to go out of state is not exactly welcomed back with open arms and doesn't have as many opportunities back in the home state as if he was a former Razorback.

Arkansas is a small state, and right or wrong, if you leave to go elsewhere when you are being recruited by the Razorbacks, a lot of employers and such kind of view it an 'F You, I'm too good to rep my state.'

They can come back, just don't expect anybody to bend over backwards for you or any special favors.

I'm sure it's the same in a sense, when someone Bama recruits opts for say, Auburn, instead. You think any Bama boosters are going to go out of their way to help that kid out when football is over. Hell no.

We are going to be okay without Tenpenny, but he better be schmoozing up with some Bama boosters, because his post football opportunities will be much better there in Alabama than in Arkansas.

Just the way it is, right or wrong.

Bielema is just doing the kids a favor by being real with them, letting them know how things really are.
