I think he's a very good pickup for Bama if he qualifies. Kid is big, strong and moves very well for a kid that size. Not as long or as athletic as Paige but similar type of kid as a NG. Shrewd evaluation by Saban and company imo. If it helps with Harris(not likely) then great but the kid is a good take on his own merit. Now he just has to qualify.

I'm late to the party here, but I would like to point out that Saban recruits to specific traits per position; height, weight, speed, agility etc. If they meet those criteria he believes his staff can coach them up on technique and skills. Perhaps this kid had all the traits they are looking for in a NG. Regardless, his track record as a recruiter speaks for itself. If this staff see's something in him I will error on the side of believing they have evaluated him correctly. They are correct often enough for me in that regard.

I would not worry about this guy since Bama already has David Cornwell committed. Harris has stated publicly that he would not go to a school who already has a QB commit

This. Saban has proven that he knows what the frick he's doing. I wouldn't care at all what the guy's star rating is if I were a Bama fan. If Saban wants him, then he's a good football player. End of story.
