Do you know if a coach recently saw a scrimmage or something?

No clue. I didnt know he existed until he committed.

I agree. Saban must feel like he'll be able to take up some good blocks for all of his amazing JACK-LB's, though.

Congrats on the pickup. It will be interesting to see if LSU ends up offering with our lack of DT recruits.

I'm sure he is good friends with one or a few of these guys:
Cameron Robinson
Hootie Jones
Fournette

If that doesn't work I'm sure he will take Sims next. They must really need Robinson. Ha

OP, I'm just messing with you. I've heard his name mentioned a few times on 247 but nothing great on his skill set. Either he doesn't fit our scheme or we have a lot of better guys on our board. I did hear they wanted him to come to a camp but that's it. With all the DLine talent in Georgia, Florida, Carolina's and Virginia I'm surprised Saban took his commitment so early.

Ya me too. Although we have done this in the last few classes. No one had heard of Darius Paige when he committed last year.

Supposedly.

I've never really even heard of us wanting to bring him in for camp. I don't think we're going after him.

This means that Harris would have a good friend cheering him on from the bench if he chooses Bama.

Unless Harris is willing to play corner or receiver I dont think we will be in it for him.

Seriously...the #1 ranked dual-threat QB in the nation isn't good enough to play QB at a place like Bama...duh.

Wrote this in another thread:

Saban must have an ulterior motive for getting this kid. Are there future studs on that team for next year? Is that coach really influential in Louisiana?

This kid isn't special IMO and is a big grade risk I believe

However, he has perfect size for a 3-4 NT. Perfect hole plugger. Doesn't fit LSU's 4-3.

ETA:

Now I am reading this thread and seeing the Harris connection. Harris could be a stud with the proper QB coaching. STRONG armed dual-threat guy that is actually pass first in the pocket.

A little erratic, but huge ceiling IMO.

We run a pro style offense. The next duel threat QB we take will be the first.
