Unless Auburn balls out then he is going to the plains

Him and Malik Willis would be an awesome competition.

Fields would destroy Willis. That is no competition.

Willis is going to surprise a lot of people. He's a damn good QB in his own right. He's not near the passer that Fields is obviously, but he's a better runner and I think he would be very close to 2014 Nick Marshall in terms of overall production. Plus he's just a gamer and a playmaker. He has the it factor.

I have no doubt Fields would win out in the end... I'm just saying, it would be fun to watch. But I also don't think that Willis would be getting "destroyed" by anybody either.

Auburn or FSU.... My guess is that DC gets him to FSU.

I didn't realize he was back in Tallahassee

Yeah, he's probably a Nole. Especially if Francois goes pro after this season.

DC isn't his primary recruiter on 247. Looks like it's Randy Sanders.

You're talking about the number one qb in the nation against a 3 star kid last year that had more offers as an athlete than as qb. Fields is heads and shoulders better than Willis in all phases of the game.

You're right. Recruiting rankings are always an exact science. Silly me.

How about college coaches? Compare their offer lists then.

Once again, you're right. As always. Never been a player develop late or get overlooked by big schools and their coaches. Eastern Illinois and Delware are just the dream schools of some guys like Flacco and Romo. I think they were legacies.

I don't even know why we recruit white QBs.

Nick Marshall- SEC title/Natty game
Cam Newton- too many accolades to list
Jason Campbell- Perfection, SEC POTY, 1st round NFL
Dameyune Craig- beast, SECCG should have beat Manning
Reggie Slack- 2 time SEC Champ

It's more of a science than you saying "trust me, he's gold".

Exactly. Because it is more than that. Willis is an early enrolled and has been very very good so far. He went up against the 1st team D in our spring game and was 11 for 18 for 157 yards. He needs some work on his mechanics but still throws a good ball and has a cannon. He has all the confidence and composure of an upperclassmen. Its hard to show it in a scrimmage he's been compared to Nick Marshall with his feet even before he got his AU offer. Dude just has an it factor that's well above his offer sheet. I already said he's no Justin Fields, but he's not a kid that would give up his spot without a fight, and assuming we don't land Fields and Willis gets his shot to start for AU he is going to be a very good QB for us. If we didn't have Stidham this year he would definitely be getting on the field this year as a true freshmen and making Sean White fight for the job.

Watch him in these A Day highlights and tell me he doesn't look good and isn't built perfectly to run a Malzahn offense.: LINK he's the first QB to lead a drive, then if you skip to about 4:30, 6:30, 11:15, and 13:00 and watch him lead the offense you'll see he's plenty capable of doing the job.

Anyway, I won't post again on the subject and derail this thread any further, but just know that assuming AU doesn't land Fields then Willis will get his shot to lead Auburn and there will be a lot of teams kicking themselves for not offering him. You will be changing your tune about him.

BoXerrumble quote

"Its why I'd rather see him at UGA.

UGA has a TON of talent. Arguably the 2nd most talented team in teh SEC this season."

This makes zero sense. You are going to lose to FSU anyway, does it matter if it's by 3 or by 30? If he goes to UGA, the talent gap widens even more and at some point it doesn't matter who the coaches are. Why give UGA a 'better' chance?

As for Corral, I can only go by his words. He was all UGA and even said UGA coaches wanted him to visit first. Why say 'first?' Did he try to commit and was told to wait? Was said at the Opening so apparently the recruiting guys thought that as many CB's followed. What happened at FNL? Fields and Corral both acknowledged they talked about their futures. Corral does a 180 and commits the next day to Fla.

Fields retweets Corral's commitment to Fla with a tweet of his own, "see you soon" implying on the field. Doesn't mean much because that could mean UGA or FSU but eliminates AU. FTR, don't know where he is going and don't think he is a slam dunk star at any of the schools.

For the married guys, a scenario to ponder. Momma wants one School, stepmom (your wife) wants the same school, and your daughter is going to that school and wants him there as well. Are you going to go against those three women in your life? I'm not, I like being happy.
