Pretty big pick up for UF there. Maybe you're starting to turn the corner a little on Mac?

For sure. 2 years to play starting in 2018 not a bad thing at all. He's a RT in all likelihood, yes?

Certainly have to give him a bit of credit here, but even Stampini who is a pretty big UF homer writer seems to point more to location being a big factor:

The Tampa (Fla.) Plant product wanted to play closer to home, which helped the Gators top LSU.

LOL on Stampini being a UF homer. That dude is the opposite of a UF homer. Shits on every UF commit. Famously said that Quincy Wilson was not able to play CB in the SEC.

Probably I could see Jawaan Taylor moving to LT if/when Ivey leaves early.

Interesting. Admittedly, I don't read much of his stuff since it's typically not all that relevant, so my only experience is rather anecdotal but regarding commits and targets of both UGA and UF, he's almost always on the "UF has a great shot here" or "UF really in the driver's seat" type comments regardless of whether it's legitimate or not.

is he the guy that complains about some sort of "UGA bump" in the rankings? I know there was one UF mod who went off on that subject

Bruh mclewain is trash, but not as trash as al golden was, so I think it's taking y'all longer to realize it than it did Miami fans. Richt is already getting Miami back to where we've always been talent wise. The only question is can he win the games for us (big if considering his time at Uga). If he beats FSU this yr though, pulling top recruits from south Florida away from Miami is going to be nearly impossible. Hell it already is getting very difficult. Thus far it looks like we are getting everyone we want on our board or in a good spot to get them. I honestly don't think UF is going to win a single recruitment over Miami this yr. FSU might get a few that we'd ideally like to add. And we will battling bama to flip Xavier Williams and get gurvan hall

If he isn't a uf homer, he is at least a hardcore uga hater. I think his screen name is straws.

I don't hate Georgia, the league is better when they're good.

Georgia just isn't good, and ran out of excuses.

Only a blind uga hater ignores what richt created for 2016. Straws stampini is one of them. A bad combo of experience and talent.

A mess of a roster. Outside of rbs, A lack of talent where the experience was, and no experience where the talent was.

Will Muschamp 2.0.

He brought in top ten recruiting classes, new coach lost to teams with much less talent at all positions on the roster and struggled his arse off with a DII team.

So now Georgia is ''barren'', ''gutted'' and ''unable to compete for the East'' when the ''East is the worst it's been in a long time''.

Florida went 7-2 head to head against Miami for recruits last class.

Florida got:
Marco Wilson
Chris Henderson
Shawn Davis
Brian Edwards
Kadeem Telfort
Kemore Gamble
Ventrell Miller

Miami got:
Kai Leon Herbert
Nayvaughan Donaldson

Keeping south Florida recruits at Miami is going to be difficult if not impossible. Shannon, Rumph, Seider, Davis, and Bell are coming to get who they want and gonna end up leaving U the scraps. Miami always has nice recruiting classes the spring and summer before signing day. Then they slowly fall off. With how stacked the state of Florida is though all three of the big three should have top 10 classes

Miami didn't want Telfort, Gamble or Miller, so I have no Idea what you are talking about. Thats like saying UF beat us out for Jake Allen, who no one wanted. Maybe you're thinking of Slaton not Telfort? But the big problem with him was he wanted to be a dt, and we already had 5 guys committed. Gamble was very clearly a drop early on for us so if you consider that a victory thats sad. Hey we're dropping Jalen Patterson (db) in this class, you want him too and call it a win? Miller we just straight up never recruited.
Marco Wilson is the brother of a current gator, and his father is basically considered a traitor to Miami, so I wouldn't consider him a loss. Thats like Al Blades choosing us and me saying we beat you for him. Its kinda ridiculous.
Shawn Davis, Chris Henderson, and Brian Edwards are the guys you beat us for. And I never liked Edwards. Henderson was all set to come to us until 2 days before nsd when Rumph chewed his arse out after he pulled that bitch move at the all star game because he wasn't a starter. Shawn Davis was good win though I wanted him. He was actually the only guy that I really wanted that you got. But even now its fine because the 2018 db class is so loaded.

Lastly this yr is completely different since its Richts first full yr and all these guys are locked in. We are going to drop patterson, and burns will only be offered a track scholarship. You guys might end up with Russell at safety though...but only because we have many guys higher on our board. Only position I honestly think you guys might beat us at this yr is OL...even that Reed and Dunlap are trending in our favor.

Not even WM recruited at the rate Kirby is. KS is bring in talent at every spot. Hell he's already loading this and next yrs class is even got a stud WR. You're hoping he's WM. As do I. If he can coach, the East is fricked. As for miami if they compete with FSU and go 10-2 it will be an easier sell. Just look at our 2 classes. Miami can sell improvement. UF is still waiting for a even average offense. There's no Buzz around UF football. Recruits notice that. We have unproven and mediocre coaches all over this staff and Shannon, bell and Seider may have some pull in Miami but none are great recruiters alone. Seider is the best of the bunch.

It's just that you said wins and losses wouldn't impact recruiting, and I'm sorry:

If you think Richt left FCS level talent at Georgia, it just seems pointless to discuss.

No way they should have competed so poorly against lesser competition, even with a freshman quarterback.
