Better overall at the position in reference to your ratings comparison

This is vague. You need specifics that you can measure.

For instance:
I'll ban bet you that Moses wins more games in his college career than Phillips does.

I'll ban bet you that Moses has a winning record against Phillips during their college careers.

I'll ban bet you that Moses leaves college with more Rings than Phillips does.

I'll ban bet you that Moses is drafted higher than Phillips is.

Those are all specific examples that we could measure. I will also be willing to bet that due to your lack of depth that Phillips has more tackles in year one than Moses does. That is a reflection on talent around them, but not on their own individual talent.

You're willing to make a bunch of bets that hinge on the better team while comparing two individual players?

From an individual standpoint he will be better and drafted higher. Also helps that he'll be tutored by one of the best DC's in the business

Well thank god we also have one of those. Moses will be ok...I know your opinion matters more than most tho....also, are you some sort of wizard with all of your future predictions? I think you should let them play a down in college before you crown him.

don't you think he has no chest because he didn't stay in his home state? What a classless POS right?

I said those were all examples of specific measurable bets. I didn't say pick one of those and let's do this.

one player having more tackles than another is not necessarily a measure of which player is better. it could be a product of system (similar to Texas Tech QBs and passing yards).

And they play different positions, so draft position, while closest thing to "who is better" is still not exact b/c that boils down to draft position and team needs to some extent.

Basically, I'm trying to point out that the whole "we went and got someone better" argument is purely fan driven opinion. Coach O didn't give up on recruiting Moses and he obviously would have loved to have had him in BR. Those who are objective with no dog in the hunt seem to have Moses currently ranked higher. That's their opinion. It likely doesn't matter to LSU fans b/c they want to feel a win now, and you should feel a "win" even without the constant comparison back to Bama.

I would also contend that the defensive staff at Bama are among the best in the business. Additionally, none of us know how long a coach will be at any stop. Aranda could take another job after Phillips' first year and then we don't know who is going to coach the kid for years 2-3 (or 4). Same with Pruitt or Tosh at Bama with Moses.

not really. The Texas Tech QB had more passing yards than Hurts and Etling. Guess why? He is better at passing the ball in college. So....

not sure why you feel the need to do this type of thing though.

congrats, i guess. he was 0-3 against Bama. he would've been a first rounder at any place he chose to play. That's to the player's credit.

Sorry brother, but the truth hurts sometimes. Bama lead for Phillips last summer, but he fell down Bama's recruiting board after the summer camps.

Bama is only taking 4 LB in this class and they got just about everyone they wanted. Missed out on Browning.

Moses and Allen were higher on Bama's board then Phillips and they stole them from LSU's back yard.

Nice pick up though, Phillips is a solid player.

You not having an actual response is shocking. I mean the only answer is he's a POS and his family needs to get the frick out of Tennessee.
