Dude I don't care what you think. The fact of the matter is Bama is notorious for taking Mississippi kids in and not doing anything for them (ie. JJ). I will never wish them ill will but if they leave state just because of another team's name/history rather than build up their home State's schools (both MSU & UM) I got nothing for them. Now, if they come out and say "I choose School X has the best _____ degree" I will applaud them.

Should Treadwell have stayed in Illinois to build up Illinois/Northwestern? Should Tunsil have stayed in Florida to help rebuild UF? Should Nkemdiche stayed in Georgia to rebuild GT? Are they all traitors to their state?

They're only a traitor if they leave Mississippi

I wonder if ABearFanNMS turns his back to the field as a gesture of protest when Treadwell scores, disgusted that such a turncoat would represent his team.

You have a point and I will admit that. However my point is Mississippi is a small State (about 1/2 the population of Alabama) that has been the butt of so many jokes (sometimes rightfully so) and there is a chance to build something special here (MSU & UM) that may help to change some of those perceptions. Like I said earlier, I won't be like a UGA fan and hold ill will towards the kids if they choose to go away. But I won't be a fan either.

* Edit: I am from Illinois and I actually think Treadwell did the best thing by leaving the Big 10 region and coming to the SEC.

It's a strange phenomenon with folks from Miss. and Louisiana especially.

If someone left this state to play elsewhere, I wouldn't think of him as a traitor. I might think he were a bit crazy, considering the current state of the two in-state programs. Bama is the top program in the country currently and for the last several years. The other school is also strong right now. It would leave me scratching my head. Why go somewhere else? But I wouldn't have ill will for them.

You think he did the best thing because he went to your team.

Do you think Illinois fans feel this way? Illinois has had nothing special in the way of football championships, and they aren't exactly a hotbed for recruiting. A player like Treadwell could have been a once in a lifetime player for the Fighting Illini.

I grew up an Illini fan and still like to watch (especially Basketball) them but yes he did the right thing by coming to the SEC (notice I didn't say Ole Miss). Truth be told I was "an SEC fan" up until Freeze came to Ole Miss. Prior to him I could barely watch them. Then both Mullens & Freeze came and I started to pay attention to both programs. I ultimately swung towards Ole Miss due a couple reasons.

And that is why I don't like Alabama. Hate to tell you but you lost that crown last year when you lost to OSU. You are "one of the top programs". But right now you can't claim that "Bama is the top program"....yet you try to.

Also, if you feel this way about Shea Patterson, we will gladly take him off of your hands. I'm sure there's some two star QB in Bumfrick, MS who has always dreamed of playing for the home state school.

So one loss in one year of the playoffs changes that? OSU needs to do it more than one year to take that crown away. They just might. They have a heck of a team! My goodness, some of you are short-term thinkers.

Who really wouldn't claim that? We won 3 NCs in 4 years, were 1 miracle loss from playing for a 4th in 5 years, and 1 playoff loss.

Was FSU the top program in the country last year? Is it now OSU? Does it simply change every year when someone new wins a national title?

Anyway, you're veering far from the topic at hand. You guys are a real piece of work.

Better than being an idiot that says things like "we are the best program" when you really aren't. So if that makes me a hypercrite in your eyes so be it.

From January until now who is the top program? Which teams made it to the CFB finals? Hint Bama wasn't one of them. Are you one of the top programs, without a doubt. But the top program beat you at the Sugar Bowl. Until you reclaim the crown you can't wear it. Otherwise you sound like a typical uneducated Walmart fan....rah tidh Pawwww!

So it's the team that won it the previous year every year. Got it.

Do you not even see the holes in your own logic?

By the way I am not the homer sitting here saying "but but but we won 2 years ago". I am the one saying you didn't even make it to the finals and lost to a team that was now actually has more proven weapons than your team. Is it the fact you have a new QB, a whole new WR corps or 3 new offensive linemen that tells me as a realistic CFB enthusiast that Bama is better than the team that beat you last year? I got it...it has to be OJ Howard returns....that is what makes you a better team this year!

SMH at your complete lack on realistic insight there buddy!

No, I don't see the holes in my own logic. Fill me in?

We've been ranked #1 every year from 2008-2014. We've won 3 NCs and 3 conference titles in possibly the most difficult conference in any time in recent football history. For now, we're ranked #2. We've been favored in 60 something consecutive games. The fact that we lost several offensive starters changes none of that.

If you want to vault OSU up to #1 at the present, go ahead. But I can assure you that you're one of the only people who would look at the above data and think that I have a "complete lack on realistic insight".
