It was very disturbing. I really figured they had more respect than that but after that game it was almost all out war to get back to the bus. Couple of guys I was with apologized but it was pretty sad.
This. I was pretty surprised because most of the USCe fans I know IRL are pretty cool.
I've been to LSU, AU, UT, and Jax and the USCe fans that night were without question the most hostile. I think it was just the perfect storm of factors (one of USCe's biggest home games ever, night game, Gameday, etc.)

Here's my honest one but its not even a SEC experience
Mets/st Louis playoff game in 2000 GM 1 Mets win.
Cardinals fans were the worst I've ever been around. Beer/nachos/chewed up food all thrown at us. Called northern bitches (whatever that means) and we had come from Memphis. Drunk after the game tries to rip my friends jersey off as we're walkin back to hotel. Bunch of worthless losers. Whenever I hear how great cardinals fans are I barf a little in my mouth
I've been to over 30 road SEC games and never been treated badly honestly

LSU and Georgia fans can get in your face, but everyone knows it's just good-natured ribbing. Florida fans are far more personal. They'll try to get in an argument with anyone. It's kinda hard to describe, but like when we were walking around Atlanta they would see us, come over to us, and just say something completely unnecessary and insulting. And it wasn't just one of them, it was all of them. They're just a different breed of fans

Little Rock..I seriously would not wish that on anyone to ever attend a game there and I think it's an embarrassment to the University of Arkansas.
Agreed

And to answer OP's question: UF. All of the other SEC school fanbases tend to take and give shite in stride and with a fair degree of humor and good nature, UF fans tend to go too far and take it seriously.

I've never had a bad road trip.
Where do you all find such mean-spirited people?

SC game in 2008 with a close second to UF in 2008.
I was a student and this was my one and only trip to Columbia. We got there and it really is a lame place for a university. The history of the city was cool, the train converted tailgate was cool, and the lights on the stadium were cool. Other than that the place was lame. You couldn't even tell you were on a campus. The bad started with SC fans doing the gator chomp to us bc we had just gotten stomped in gainsville and I was thinking, when was the last time these guys had beaten UF. The worst part was their fans chucking batteries at us from the stands. They were really rude all around fan base, especially for a school with a history of losing.
ps Little Rock sucks too. Every other stadium was great with my favorite being a three way tie between UGA, Alabama, and Starkvegas

I'll third or fourth Columbia 2012. Granted I've only been to 4 true road games and haven't had a serious issue at the Florida game in the 5 or so times I've been. It wasn't as awful to me as I've heard here but it was by far the worst I've experienced.

2007 UGA is an experience I wish I could forget.

2003 Ole Miss was pretty bad. 2004 UGA was pretty fricking awesome if you don't count that David Greene turned into Joe Montana and Xavier Carter knelt on the 1 yard line.
That's the only two road games I've been to.
As far as visiting fans coming in to BR, Auburn fans are usually the funnest. Ole Miss fans are usually the worst. Florida fans are usually pretty bad. I wouldn't say Bama fans are good or bad, lately the game has been so big that it's just been a tense, weird feeling around campus and the stadium. My season tickets are right near the visitors section (at least before I moved away from LA) so I got to see all the visiting teams up close.

Walking out of Legion Field 1998-
After sitting in the lower endzone, freezing my arse off, and watching Auburn get killed, me and my buddy turn around to leave and discover that damn near the entire AU fanbase had evaporated. We had to walk up and out to get out of that rust bucket stadium and go past thousands of Bama fans, every one of them seemingly looking directly at us singing 'Rammer Jammer.' Kids, old ladies, everybody was zeroed in on us the entire time trying to hit us with red and white shakers. I remember one little black lady who was screaming at us about how they had just beat the hell out of Auburn.
SUCKED

Mississippi State definitely....the state fans that sat above us were terrible. All through the game threw stuff at us and tried to pick fights the whole time. Ended up leaving early after that long drive there. Have never been back. Also my only bad away game experience.

Texas Tech 2007 is the only time I've feared for my safety at a football game. Had several things thrown at me or into our section in general, had three or four different people try and start fights with us on the way out and had my truck keyed. Before the game an old Ag and what I assume was his young grandson (7-8 at most) were walking behind the student section to their seats and about 5,000 students start chanting "frick aggy" at them.
the only other place where I've been treated "poorly" was Baylor, but it was more annoying than threatening.

to be fair, Tech owned Aggy

Probably because you weren't on a campus.
