Your thoughts on the Lane Kiffin hire one year later

Lane's hire was roasted all over this website. For good reason. He had been an abject failure at his most recent stops, along with a so-so year at UT. I couldn't stand the guy and was actual embarrassed when we made him OC. The laughs could be heard from the swamps of Baton Rouge to the hills of East Tennessee. Lane's hire marked the downfall of not only Nick Saban, but the Alabama football program as a whole. The cancer that was Kiffin would undoubtedly eat away and kill what Nick he built. Sooner rather than later.
One year later, Alabama won the conference, put up superb passing numbers, and found itself in postion to win another title. Unfortunately, Alabama failed and the title was brought to Columbus.
Widely regarded as laughably stupid when it happened, how has your opinion on the Lane hire changed since then, if at all. How do you see him going forward? Has your perception of him changed at all in your mind after one year at the Capstone? Would you now feel comfortable having Lane on your teams coaching staff?
All thoughts are appreciated.

One of the best OC in CFB.
But we should have rammed Henry down tOSUs throat. They couldn't stop him.

As a Bama fan, I'm in love with the hire. Hope we can keep him for a few more years, but he may be gone after this season. Holding out hope that he just prefers being an OC, but that ain't likely.

I love it. He helped Ole Miss win their first game against Alabama since 2003. He's 0-2 against Ole Miss in his career. Here's to him becoming 0-3

I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do without Amari Cooper. He was an absolute monster. I wish Bama would get back to a more physical offense though. But whatever works for y'all. If Bama excels at QB this year I'll be 100% sold on Lane

He's better than I thought. He still over thinks it and try's to build stats for his best players a little too much.
He's good though. He brought that offense up a notch.

He's the reason you lost to Ohio State.

Good hire.
I said it was a good hire at the time as well.

Well to be fair, Lane called a good play to win that OM game. It's wasn't his fault OJ Howard is soft and got out jumped by a guy 6 inches shorter than him.

Good move so far. We'll know more in a few months.
Whatever y'all do don't make him HC after Saban retires!

Part of, not singularly responsible. His offense didn't let up 42 points.

Passed when he should have run several times and Sims threw 3 interceptions..

Good play caller, but I'm sure he is still a narcissistic prick.
I think someone else will take a chance on him again as a HC in the next year or two.

I'd say defense and Sims' 3 INTs were the reasons we lost to Ohio State.
That and Cardale Jones is a fricking monster.

It was a ballsy move by Saban and it paid off. Interested to see how he does without Amari and no experienced QB.
