UCF in 2000 for Homecoming?

quote:

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama (Ticker) -- Javier Beorlegui's fourth field
goal of the game, a 37-yarder with three seconds left, gave
Central Florida a 40-38 victory over Alabama that could spell
the end for Crimson Tide coach Mike DuBose.

Central Florida, which made the jump from Division I-AA just
five years ago, was playing Alabama for the first time and had
lost its previous nine games against Southeastern Conference
foes.

I remember thinking we had a chance on the final kick-off to run the lateral play, but we couldn't finish it off.

Basically, the 2000 season, pick a game.

That one was bad but by that point that season was such a dumpster fire that it just seemed par for the course.

Big Red did punch one of their LB's though after a play, so that was pretty awesome.

Hilarious thing is we beat South Carolina that year and they went like 9-3.

Clemson 2003. 63-17. Can't get much worse than losing that bad to your arch rival in your own stadium.

I would say 2008 Bama because it essentially crushed any hope any realistic fans had and it was an arse whooping but i have to go to another one of Richt's finer moments in 2008, when we headed down to Jacksonville and I guess forgot to get off the plane

#8 UF 7 7 21 14 49
#6 UGA 0 3 0 7 10

AND that last TD only came off of back up Ginger-frickface-Cox toss to at the time 11th string TE Aron White. So really, it was 49-3. Mark Richt took a season where Georgia was preseason #1 and got completely obliterated by the two teams we played with a pulse AND fricking Georgia Tech. The team never once at any time looked prepared, focused, or even like they gave a shite. They looked like scared little boys that not only were they getting totally man-handled but also completely outsmarted. Not at any point during the game did I think UGA had a shot and by like 10 min into the 3rd our side of the stadium was pretty sparse. shite, those of us who remained were just hoping they'd hold on to some semblance of pride. But this is a Mark Richt led team and that just wasn't in the cards. And to top it all off Urbz went and called two timeouts and basically gave Richt the bird while Mark was busy motor boating his wife or planning his next trip to Haiti on the sideline.

So lesson of this story? Mark Richt is a fricking flamer.

Houston Nutt promised that he would take us to new places, we just didn't believe at the time that it would be terrible places.

Sugar Bowl against the Utes 2009 was pretty bad. I don't know who came out on the field, but it was not the team that had played the entire 2008 season

Yes it was. We just didn't have Andre Smith, and we had no depth that year. Then another injury to the OL and that was all she wrote.

Remember that year AS was out for the game against Tulane. We only won because javy had more return yards than we did offensive yards. When your offense can't pass the ball and you lose the centerpiece of your offensive line with nobody to replace him bad things happen. Especially when you play a good team which Utah obviously was.

My friends lost so much money on that game, but I told them to be careful with Andre Smith not playing.

Where do I start?

Last year WKU
2004 loss to Ohio
I believe in the Bill Curry era we lost to a directional school at home, NE Louisiana maybe?
Any loss to Spurrier, they have all been pretty bad.

Mike Dubose poisoned us. What's funny is that he was interviewed in the summer of 2009 and said he had almost nothing to do with that SEC title in '99. He gave all of the credit to Shaun Alexander, Chris Samuels, and Cornelius Griffin.

LSU in 1/9/12 BCSNCG resembles that remark....

LSU and UF fans should keep this in mind as a garbage bowl game doesn't spell doom for next year.

10-09-1993 @ LSU 3, UF 58

10-12-1996 LSU 13, @ UF 56

I think those two may be the worst losses ever for LSU.

...which made the visor throwing all the sweeter in '97.

ETA: Most embarrassing losses:

11-12-1994 @ LSU 18, USM 20 (Got Curley fired)

11-13-1999 @ LSU 7, Houston 20
(Got Dinardo fired, came back the next week to demolish Arky 35-10 with Hal Hunter as Int HC)

09-23-2000 @ LSU 10, UAB 13

Most frustrating losses:

09-17-1994 LSU 26, AU 30
(Losing the next week vs USCe for only their second win of the series added insult to the injury of the interception game)

11-09-1996 @ LSU 0, UA 26
(Just can't stop Alexander)

11-07-1998 @ LSU 16, UA 22
(fricking BOOTY!!!1!)

11-06-1999 LSU 17, @ UA 23
(fricking BOOTY!!!2!)

01-09-2012 LSU 0, UA 21
(fricking frick!!!!!!1!!!)

Still one of oddest games I have ever attended. To beat UT without a QB was crazy. I was happy, but it was a hollow happiness.
