Hadn't thought about that but Mizzou, actually located in the Midwest, needs to figure out how to use the biggest recruiting tool in that area the other teams (NU, Illinois, tOSU, Oklahoma, etc)..."You can compete against the best athletes in the country...the SEC."

Well they did go to the SECCG last year, so I expect that will help them down the line.

No to a 9 game schedule, and no to the West.

It's fine the way it is.

Not really. UGA kicked Auburn's teeth down their throat in 2012 and 2011. Sure it was close this year, but the tenn/bama game came down to the final play in '09 too. The only difference is that a different team has won when the game is close. Both series have featured arse whippings lately with a close game mixed in, the difference is bama wins the close ones, AU/uga split.
Easy killer, who didn't "kick Auburn's teeth down their throat" in 2011 & 2012?

the real solution is to move Auburn to the East making the conference and schedules more balanced.

el oh el

no

9 game conference schedule or eliminating permanent cross division opponents are the obvious choices (both would be best)

This shite right here is ridiculous

Eliminate permanent cross division opponents and go to 9 games and boom- you'd play them on a regular basis.

Its not rocket science and it doesn't involve switching Vandy for Auburn (Vandy may have the overall record vs Auburn, but nobody objectively believes this would balance the divisions)

The best Solution is to move Auburn and Alabama to the East, Vanderbilt and Mizzou to the West. Perm cross division games will no longer be needed.

Alabama keeps Auburn, Tennessee
Auburn keeps Alabama and Georgia
Florida keeps Georgia and Tennessee
Georgia keeps Auburn and Florida
Kentucky doesn't matter
South Carolina still plays Clemson
Tennessee keeps Alabama and Florida, gets Auburn back.

Only rivalry game lost is UT-Vandy, which is not that big of a deal.

LSU along with A&M are strong enough to carry the west. Mizzou, Arky or Ole miss will step up and be the yearly third team in the mix.

Geographically the only misstep is Tuscaloosa being slightly West of Nashville, still for travel, things are improved.

You've got to be shitting me. Let look at these divisions for a second

West- LSU, aTm, Ole Miss, MSU, Mizzou, Arkansas, Vandy

East- USC, UGA, UF, UT, Auburn, Bama, Kentucky

So in summary, you think the best possible solution is to put Vandy and the two Mississippi schools into one division and 5 of the big 6 into the other.

gtfo with that shite

Bama, UT, UGA and Auburn need to get it into their fat fricking heads that the entire conference isn't going to suffer just so they can play a yearly games of patty cake with their frenemey

Its not rocket surgery.

West - TAMU, LSU, Ole Miss, Other Miss, Mizzou, Arkansas, Vandy

East - Bama, Auburn, UF, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, SCAR.

No real rivalries get broken up other than Vandy v Tennessee and they can schedule that one out if they want. But this current abortion of a set up makes no sense and hamstrings most of the conference because of a couple of teams rivalries.

LSU's AD and their fans continue to complain about cross divisional rivals

Alabama-Tennessee

Auburn-Georgia

LSU-Florida

One of these isn't a long time traditional rivalry. However, if I had to choose a SEC team to play every year, it would be Florida.

If one objectively evaluates SEC football scheduling, its is plain as day that one SEC West team regularly has a schedule that favors them (Alabama).

Sounds good but they could end up playing LSU 2-3 times. And could end up playing Bama 3 times as well

My ideal divisions:

A:

Auburn
uk
vandy
ole miss
missy state
usc
mizzou

B:

lsu
uf
bammer
georgia
texas a&m
arkansas
ut

Eliminate the SECC game completely.

SEC champion is the team with the best overall record.

Lastly, Auburn gets to play kentucky twice a season in case of a tie breaker.
