I for one would hate to see a 5-3 SEC team winning a division over a 7-1 team..

So it was Spurrier's idea originally but Lester is the main bitcher..

It isn't a matter of being anti-tradition, we love tradition and, in fact, I agree with your second comment; the 12 team model with a conference championship game is perfect and was the way that I predicted that other conferences would end up before the Pac10 decided they wanted to be the PAC16 with Pods.

That said, the point here is that the SEC can't cater to 4 schools to the detriment of the other 10. If Alabama and Auburn were so determined to play Tennessee and Georgia every year, they should have moved them to the East during expansion and put A&M and Mizzou in the West, which made more sense geographically anyway.

Really? Aside from the debate on the "permanent opponent" which is giving us our current genuinely stupid model, the last real bitching that I heard was from Saban over playing tough opponents after their bye weeks. LSU fans do prefer night games, but not getting them has less to do with actual scheduling than it does with TV.

Of course we're bitching, it's dumb. Half the teams don't bitch because the inequity works in their favor. The others are concerned over a game they think is more important than others but nobody else in the conference or country even realizes is a rivalry worth caring about.

a team shouldn't have to go 10-12 years before playing another team IN THEIR OWN CONFERENCE

’m not for that. I’m not for Auburn playing Georgia every year. I think, again, that’s disproportionate. I think there should be an opportunity to see a greater segment of the conference. I think the opportunity to rotate two games as opposed to one game, and therefore not really annually picking them on arbitrary criteria, to determine your champion.”

He really said that? Well, remember, he's a B10 guy at heart and doesn't grasp oldest rivalry in the deep south. Plus he played on the OL for Bo, so assume brain damage from running into a wall on a regular basis. Third, I'm pretty sure that quote could be better said in one simple sentence but I'm getting a headache trying to decipher what the man just said. Get 'em Les, ya crazy bastard. I'm still a CLM homer.

Please understand that Bama has 4 traditional rivalries that can't be touched.

Four? UT is first. Over past generation AU has replaced them amongst 50 and younger crowd probably.
I have no idea who 3 and 4 is, honestly.
