Total fabricated bullshite....I really hope you don't let these conspiracy theories eat away at you for the rest of what life you have, you pitiful excuse for an adult. You act like the University of South Carolina is your right arm, and Hyman cut it off from you. Hyman didn't take credit for starting or accomplishing things that came before his hiring. He took credit for things that came to be during his watch as our Athletic Director, something that EVERY AD in college athletics does. He played a huge role in USC's upsurge in athletics during his tenure, and deserved to tout them - not only for his own behalf, but as representation for USC as well.

For apparently a USC fan who seems to have some years on him, you have a serious amount of growing up to do. Let Eric Hyman go, man. He can't hurt you anymore....

I think he'll be dead before the 70's.

It's just now 2013. That's 57 years from now.

He may coach til the 20's but no way he coaches til the 70s

lulz

How full of shite are you?

Paul Dietzel was the highest paid coach in the ACC when he was here. He was one of the original #100k men in the entire country.

Jim Carlen was one of the top twenty highest paid coaches in the country when he was fired. And he was fired for something other than failure to perform. Which only goes to illustrate just how full of shite your historical perspective truly is ConwayCock, and how out of touch you really are with the past, present and future of the program.

Nary a mention of the internal destructive politics of the school from '55 -'95? Nary a mention of the tobacco road academic roadblocks and battles or the James Holderman days. No mention whatsoever of Joe Morrison's death - and the circumstances surrounding it. All of the above pre-SEC and none of it having one fricking thing to do with not having enough money ... which was NEVER a problem at SC.

lulz - just stfu Conway. You don't have a clue wtf you are talking about.

Dietzel was never paid a 100K salary....he was signed for a 10-year deal for 25K a year in 1966, with a TV show deal (first for USC HCs) that brought another 10K a year. His per-year salary was comparable with other ACC FB HCs at the time: Clemson's Frank Howard was being paid 25K a yr...

Whatever Conway. I've spoken to Coach many times and know damn well he was the first $100K man in the ACC - he was paid as AD and HC, and it was, at least in his opinion, one of the reasons he felt he was shoved out of the position early and replaced by Carlen who was willing to do it for less.

Furthermore, Coach Dietzel and Coach McGuire were both the highest paid coaches, at their sports, in the ACC in 1969. That's even in Coach McGuire's book.

And I have no idea what Frank Howard was being paid nor do I give a rat's arse.

You'd better get your g-d story straight before you accuse anyone of lying again .... Internet message boards are damn sure not worth lying about. And you can be a Hyman lover all day long without trying to start that lying shite. Eric Hyman is who he is. I realize there is a generation of young fans that think he was God's gift to the Gamecocks but, in actuality, SC was far more good to him than he was to us. I, and many many others, were glad to see him go. And I knew him well, sat with him at more than a couple of ballgames - between Ms Dodie and him at a couple of big ones. But familiarity breeds contempt in the case of Eric Hyman and you could never turn your back on him else he would stab you right in the spine and twist the blade.

It seems like just yesterday that he was the hot young coach in college football.
