Obviously the baseball team and Tanner are just simply better and more talent than a lot of their SEC counterparts, something that can't be said for the football team so in a way its apples to oranges but I can't help but notice how people felt when JBJr went down (in Starkville) in baseball and instead of accepting defeat of losing our best hitter / OF.. we just kept on playing.

With that said I doubt our football team will get a shot at an NC this year but they still have a lot they can accomplish.

Come to Calhoun's on Saturday, we will help you find some. I have a friend that put two for sale on facebook, but I don't know what he is asking. He will be there tailgating though.

You are right.

Baseball is different. you also play games in series.

Not that we would've needed series to win the NC with that sparkling 10-0 record.

I kinda get the feeling our fan base has that mentality for the football team, too. I haven't really heard that much negativity at all, really. Matter of fact, it surprised me to hear so many fans using the phrase "win anyway."

I'm echoing that sentiment

Don't read the Gamecock boards. I have read them for my last time.

I ignore ingorance (imagine that )

Most everything I've heard from the rumblings that have crossed my path have been nothing but positive support.

It's possible. Right now, I don't see the Cocks beating the Hogs.

But then again, I'm pretty sure Richt will find a way to lose to UF...again.

I think it will come down to the UF-USC game.

I would say No as well, unless Ace or someone has picked it up.

I would see Wilds running it before Ace. Seriously.

Maybe even throw Byrd in there? Hell, we would have to do something. Hopefully Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuce will play.

Wilds? I think he would run the hammer or whatever Latt ran, but not necessarily the wildcat. Are they the same thing?

No. Wildcat is an extra tackle loaded to one side (Lattimore was actually in one-back and NOT wildcat on a good many carries, it's just easy to confuse the two). Hammer, if you're talking about the E&H, is 3 OL in the tackle box, plus the TE and wing back.

I bet Wilds could do either. The coaches seem to have enough confidence in the kid, and he's not lacking in that category either.

I really didn't realize Wilds was 6-1 223.

For Some reason i thought he weighed less.

This kid after a few years in the S&C is gonna beef up.

Look at latti. that would be great to have those 2 type of backs in the backfield.

Yea, I think I could see Wilds in the hammer more than WC. I just think of WC utilizing a speedy guy.

When you say Hammer, you're talking about the split-tackle formation right? The E&H?

And Wilds definitely has room to put on at least 10-15 more without affecting his speed. We'll get a nice sample of the 1-2 flavor they'll provide us next year in the coming weeks. Could be great, guys

Yes, I am talking about when Latt lined up, then we split the tackles out wide. I liked that formation. Ran it 3 times with Latt taking the snap, and he gained about 6-7 each time. That is what I was referring to as the hammer, but I might have labeled it wrong.
