he'll have a losing season immediately if he coaches in the NFL which has a level playing field. you can't severely out-talent the opponent every week in the NFL.

You can't blame him for having to play POS-for-talent teams like Tennessee, can you?

Except at the QB position. Which is the one spot that can lead to a major slip in play.

Les Miles didn't have a QB from 2008-2011 and still managed to avoid a losing season and even had a couple of 11+ win seasons to boot. Why? Because he was talented every where else.

Regardless of how the game continues to evolve and change, there is one mantra that continues to ring true: a strong running game and a good defense can win you championships.

Care to argue? LSU has shown the last 3 times they have played Alabama that they are not capable of scoring more than 17 points, while in 2 of those games, they were beaten by three touchdowns. Recent history suggests a superior team in Alabama vs. An inferior team in LSU which means Alabama is most likely to win as far as the argument in this thread goes.

Alabama never loses in Death Valley.

Got to have good QB play to win a Championship. There will be at least one game during the year that the QB has to win it with his arm.

No. He basically plays no one out of conference and then only has around 4 reasonably difficult conference games.

8-4 or 7-5 should be considered a losing season for him based on his talent level and easy schedule every year.

You don't need a good QB to have good QB play for just one game out of the season. Any decent QB can throw the ball down field. Any decent QB with talented WRs and TEs to throw to can have just as much production as a good or even a great QB.

If you surround a "game manager" type QB like JPW, McElroy or even McCarron with blue chip talent, they will be successful.

Really? When does he play more than one decent out of conference team?

Then, he plays 3-4 SEC teams with a pulse.

Like I said, with his talent level and only playing 4-5 decent to good teams a year, he will never go less than 7-5 o4 8-4.

Les Miles at LSU, in his worst year, went 7-5 in the regular season. It was equivalent to a losing season. A lot of it has to do with great recruiting and scheduling.

He has never won less than 9 games in any other regular season.

Saban won't either.

What makes that "sad." It is just reality.

Wisconsin next year

Whose fault is that? LSU needs to get better if they want our SEC schedule to be tougher, maybe you could stop losing to Ole Miss and others you shouldn't. Alabama is going for 4 in a row over LSU, and the schedule doesn't have a damn thing to do with that. Whiner

I count 3 home cupcake games for LSU last year, just like usual. And 3 more this year.
