Gus will get a contract extension after winning the National Championship!!

After that he will continue to dominate, bama and Lsu like he has. He wins when he wants dwi

On a semi-related note, how will Bama react if Saban starts slipping? By forcing him to retire before he wants to, like Bryant and Stallings? Or by making his life so miserable for not living up to their expectations that he seeks employment elswehere, like Perkins and Curry? Or just firing him outright, like DuBose and Shula?

Fun trivia: each of those aforementioned HCs had 10-win seasons at the Capstone within a year of their ouster.

anti, you seem to be implying that AU may actually hold Malzahn to as high a standard as UA has historically held their HCs.

Thanks for the compliment.

Offensively, yes. Almost 1,100 yards of O against the greatest D mind in the history of everything.

One of the requirements for getting fired is an undefeated season. So once he accomplishes that in 2015 he certainly will be eligible for being fired losing 5 games.

I corrected it. Bama has never beaten an AU team in AU that finished the season ranked in their entire history.

Incorrect. (Also, I'm not sure why you're bragging about this - considering how many times we've beaten you, it gives the appearance that the normal status of Auburn football is to suck).

Last year, you finished the season 22nd/23rd in the AP/Coaches' poll. Alabama has beaten an "end of year" ranked Auburn team 12 times. 1953, 1959, 1960, 1968, 1971, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1985, 1990, 1994, 2014. Plenty of those are recent enough you should remember them (like the time AU went against Alabama when AU was 9-0-1 and Bama was 10-0 going into the Iron Bowl in 1994, and LAST YEAR).

Revisionist history might work for ancient history, but this is easily confirmed. Keep trying.

So? he's still 1-1. He won the first game on one of the biggest fluke plays in the history of college football...but hey kudos to him...Last year, AU chewed up lots a yards against Bama and still came up short. His red zone efficiency in that game wasn't good at all as the field got compressed. You still have to play defense something Gus is still working to figure out...and Kiffin went in dry on Gus and called a better game.

Thanks for posting this - I've never understood why Aub's throw that out all the time. It damn sure doesn't make Auburn look good, or anywhere close to being elite.

When we are good and we are at home we have more success!

said the Auburn fan pretending like this was some sort of revelation

also Gus would have to have an epic meltdown this year to even come close to a hot seat

I doubt he's bragging as much as trying to denigrate your accomplishments. You know, like we do to each other over everything.

...and how many times have we beaten you? The series record is far closer than you gumps make it out to be.

The posed question and your "precedent" don't really match up.

Freep you are one here that has no excuse. I told you on the old board that it would take one loss to Alabama and Tubs would be gone. I was laughed at but lo and behold....I was right.

Chizik wins a Natty and what happens a couple years later? Tater Tot goes unbeaten and likewise. You Barners are very fickle.

I am on record once again here. An Auburn loss this year at home to Bama will start the grumbling, especially if it isn't a good year on top of it. Lose to Alabama on the road the following season that would be three straight not to mention it took a miracle to keep it from being four, and the coaching search begins. Malzahn will be history.

GD gumps can't read. What does "in AU" mean?

It means games played in Auburn, like this year.

Again, Bama has never beaten an AU team in AU that finished ranked. It is 0-7 or 0-8 I believe.

Well, we have beaten plenty of bama teams on bamas home field when bama finished ranked.

Point is AU has finished up the season ranked most seasons the game has been played in AU. And bama has never won. Even when bama came in ranked higher.
