Keeping Fulmer was good for our rivals and nobody else.

Uh... where do you get this idea? I don't think it's based in fact, that's for sure. UF kept Muschamp around for an extra year after going 4-8 and losing to GA SOUTHERN. Bama and LSU also have kept coaches through multiple disappointing seasons with losing records.

When's the last time any of those shools I mentioned kept a coach who hadn't won the conference for 7 seasons?

Georgia may not have hired the right guy, but they were right to fire Richt. They didn't let a 9-3 record delude them into thinking they were good. Unfortunately, I can see us doing just that this year.

I like what I'm seeing thus far but acknowledge it's the honeymoon phase; the proof will be on the field over the next several years.

With new coaching staffs at East rivals UGA, USC, Missouri, and McElwain in only his 2nd season at UF, plus Kentucky and Vanderbilt, and even Butch Jones probably can't choke this one away.

Was Patterson really set on going to UT?

These myths about how you could have gotten a star coach develop in fanbases a lot of the time.

I've seen other fanbases discuss how they could have gotten Urban Meyer before UF did. I always believe these stories are a bit ridiculous. Especially since UF fans weren't universally sold on Urban when he was hired and I don't believe anybody realized how good he was at the time. For all anybody knew Meyer could have turned out to be the next Tommy Bowden or Dan Hawkins who flamed out once he got to a bigger conference at the time UF hired him.

I would say that auburn better hope they don't end up with a chiz 2.0 but it looks like that may have already happened.

What will yall do after going 6-6 this year?

Chiz won a NC.

Malzahn hasn't.

Chiz also had a record of 30-10 after 3 years, while Malzahn is 27-13.

Never. Georgia has what Tennessee has never had...an ample number of black high school athletes within the immediate area. Even under Fulmer, UT had to recruit nationally and dip into areas way outside of East Tennessee because there are hardly any black people that live in eastern Tennessee. The four most impactful guys on that national championship team. Deon Grant, Jamal Lewis, Cozey Coleman, and one other who I cannot think of at the moment all came from the state of Georgia. Throw in Peerless Price from Ohio and Tee Martin from Alabama and you see the problem. UT doesn't have the luxury of "cultivating" a particular recruiting area, whereas UGA can do that within 75 miles of campus.

Hire a new coach and win an SEC and possible NC championship within a couple of years. You're a dawg fan, so I don't expect you to know what those abbreviations mean.

Tennessee needed to fire Fulmer. UGA's firing of Richt was much worse.
