Will Georgia go down the road Tennessee went after Fulmer

In 2008 Tennessee fired a coach with a 152-52 record a BCSNC & 2 SEC Championships.
Tennesssee after Fulmer
44-44 overall
19-32 SEC
4 losing seasons
3 different coaches Head Coach's
Mark Right was 145-51 with 2 SEC Championships. Will UGA go the same way Tennessee did after firing a consistent winner?

It is certainly possible. But right now I would say Auburn is farther down that road than Georgia.

Auburn certainly hasn't been consistent but we've shown we can jump up and win big any given year.

If we get to eventually call everyone a bitch after saying a shortened version of our mascot's name, then I'm all for it.

Tennessee ahould have fired Fuler after 2005, like Florida, LSU, Alabama, and Auburn would have done.

I don't believe so, I think it's about getting the right coach for your program. Kirby is already recruiting at higher level than Richt was. I'm sure his defense will be nasty. The only question left is how his offense will perform. I think UGA wins a title in the next 5 years.

Well, you've done it twice. (2010 and 2013) but you've also shown you can go from big to absolutely horrible.
If you guys can ever get consistent, you would probably give Alabama a good run for their money. I think, even though you recruit reasonably well, your recruiting would pick up. You really need to put together 2-3 good, strong years.
BUT, getting back to your point...we have a first year HC. We THINK (Hope and pray) that he will pan out, but nobody knows for sure. It is always surprising how a coach can be so good as an assistant and it doesn't translate over to a HC position.
Only time will tell. If it can happen to Tennessee, it can happen to anybody.

Tennessee's problem had less to do with firing Fulmer and more to do with back to back poor hires. Obviously the jury is still out on Smart but he's taking over a team in much better shape than what Fulmer left.

Being consistent is about having a consistent QB. We just haven't had that. Your 100% right on Kirby we won't know until he shows he can win without Saban.

Uga under richt never fell as far as ut did under fulmer, we have a strong freshman class, and our future recruiting remains strong, so doubtful.

When he was fired, he was no longer a "consistent winner" why don't people get that....
When UGA fired Richt and Nebraska fired Pelleni, I was a little perplexed (Same with LSU trying to fire Miles). They just want to get over the hump and win the big one.

And Malzahn has never had a consistent QB that didn't come from another program. He's never developed one of his own.

Unlikely. Kirby Smart is incredibly unlikely to leave his alma mater after 1 season, and in the case he did, it would be unlikely for Georgia to make as big of a dud of a hire as Derek Dooley. Even if those two things did happen, a big reason for UT's fall was a major recruiting decline under Dooley, which would likely be much less sharp at UGA just given the in-state base at Georgia.

Why are you perplexed? During Richt's Tenure...Florida...Auburn...Alabama...and LSU all won national titles and UGA missed multiple SEC championship games in a span where the East was absolute garbage.
See thats the problem..people just look at wins and losses, but its much deeper than that. UGA won the bulk of its games the past 5 years over programs struggling mightily. Tenn and UF are traditional powerhouses, but until recently have been dumpster fires. Then there are annual baddasses Kentucky and Vandy. A bowl game was served on a silver platter to Mark Richt every year without even trying.
Then you take into account the way we lost big games last year against Alabama and Tenn and Florida, all the only fricking games that mattered, and its very easy to see why Rich was fired.

And Saban has had 1 McCarron. The rest were just average 1 or 2 year players. And BTW you just won a NC with a QB developed at FSU

Possibly to some extent, but I highly doubt UGA or any other big SEC team hires a HC as shitty as Dooley for a looooong time.
