The daddy called both Hoover and Colquitt wanting to be guaranteed the starting qb job for little brother. Both Niblett and Propst said no.
Then Thompson said come on down.

By the way Thompson is a nobody. While Hoover and Colquitt are national powers.

How can you be "national power" in HS football?

Do they have a recruiting footprint or sell merch nationwide?

You probably went to a 1 room school house. But those teams play the top teams from all over the country and are ranked in the national polls most years. This is not 1A football in the middle of no where. Both play on ESPN.

This post is so rube-ridden that it needs no rebuttal. Congrats on your superior insight into juvenile athletics

They never considered Colquitt. They did, however, visit more than one district.

Thompson almost beat Hoover in 7 on 7 twice in the last month. Don't act like Hoover is miles ahead going into this season.

7 on 7 means nothing at all ... back when I was in school teams always played hard in 7 on 7 but when the season came and it was the real deal we would win by 30. You can jump all up in 7 on 7 knowing you won't get hit its a completely different game when a safety is praying you leap for a pass

Was going to say Colquitt County is over 5 hours away from Tuscaloosa. Would be dumb to move that far from Hawai'i to be close to Tua only to live over 5 hours away still.

Thought I read somewhere (Bama related) they chose where they are because they have family in the area. Should be easy enough to verify.

7 on 7 is completely different from actual games. Lanier HS out of Montgomery, al just won the Cam Newton 7 on 7 and they haven't won a playoff game in years. Hoover is THE school for football in the state of Alabama and its really not close historically.

Prattville had a good run from 06-11.

Yes, I understand there is a difference. That said, there were clips of Tua's brother being posted all week. He's better than Parker Wilson at Hoover and he had Thompson in a position to compete. Thompson almost beat Hillcrest last year when they were #1 in 6A. With a solid QB, I expect this to be a year they make a run in 7A.

With respect to Sidney Lanier, the Cam Newton tournament was missing the top
teams. They were in Hoover for the national select tournament. Hoover did make it to the finals, but they blew a big lead and lost to a team from South Carolina.
