Watching Gonzaga-Tennessee right now and its basically already over

Its Kentucky and the 13 dwarves this year.

Coaching?

Too much resources put into football and basketball is an afterthought?

The game atmosphere isn't what it used to be in the SEC. Most schools have moved the student seating to the end of the court or up high and you end up with older people with money sitting down low at midnight court. These people think they are watching a baseball game and don't create an atmosphere that get players hyped or recruits hyped about wanting to be a part of the problem. Don't agree? Tell me one consistently winning program that doesn't have their student section down low along the length of the court.

To be honest, it has been bad across the board for a while. The league struggles to put 3 teams in the NCAA tournament nowadays.

I don't really have an answer. Most SEC schools recruit at a high level, but the overall player development doesn't seem to be there. The enthusiasm and commitment from fans and administration seems to be lacking at some of the bigger schools as well.

With the coaches and and talent in the league though there should be 8 tournament teams most years.

There are a few SEC schools who clearly favor baseball over basketball for the #2 favorite sport, and I think this plays a role.

No other conference has to deal with that, its football and basketball as the two main sports. SEC schools have baseball challenging basketball, which I think ends up hurting the fanbase's passion for basketball.

Because too many idiots like McDarius Cousins or whatever his name is, are in the SEC.

I honestly think this attitude is a major reason why SEC basketball is lagging

Baseball is still a niche sport on the collegiate level. This board is not an accurate representation of how important college baseball really is.

It's player development more than anything else. When you have teams that are struggling with MEAC and SWAC level teams its head scratching. You should be able to just roll the ball out and flat out talent those type of teams.

A only a few teams have players that seem to get better from year to year.

Bruh, we top 20.

But yes. It's always been UK (UF as a distant but obvious 2nd under Billy) and 1-2 teams that are having a good year or a good 2-4 year run that might give UK fits. But when has it consistently been a deep league?

Why any school would favor baseball over basketball is ridiculous

To me the problem is more going crazy over football. You don't have to put all your assets into one thing to be good at it. Compare Wisconsin to Georgia for example. Wisconsin is a top program in football and basketball. Georgia goes balls out for football and are they really better at football. Let alone enough to justify it

I'm ok with Alabama football and Kentucky basketball. They win enough championships to justify being a complete arse suckfest shithole turd burger in the other sport

Except a player or two, I've never met anyone who cared about college baseball off this board.

Is it a lack of resources though? Do SEC teams have terrible facilities or not invest in coaches enough?
