Nice use of a "compliment" on Dan Mullen to take shots at State backhandedly.

I could go on, but basically any body who's actually been to multiple SEC towns will tell you that Starkville is the worst, with a huge gap between it and number 13.

I want Auburn to hire him. He is a good coach who can win. And he is smart enough to build his team from the trenches on both sides of the ball.

It's early yet. With all the vacancies this year I'm sure he'll get a look. I think the most natural fit is Virginia Tech. But to me that isn't a better job than MSU. It does get him a bit closer to home, though.

VT isn't a better job than State IYO. Thanks for letting us know that your opinion doesn't mean shite.

Probably because aside from a job like Penn St, he wouldn't leave.

He has it made in Starkvegas, and has the full support of his athletic director. Moreover he has a competent to good athletic director, unlike Foley or Jacobs.

3 more good seasons and he'll probably have his own statue @ MSU and will still not be in his late 40s.

Funny how just before last season he was : "overrated" and "couldn't win the big one" and "couldn't compete in the sec".

Now ya'll all scared!

You had me until here

Mississippi State is ranked last in the SEC by Academic quality, and 2nd from last among all P5 teams.

As Mississippi state is classified as a Carnegie very high research institution.. Up there with the likes of MIT, Stanford, Columbia, etc. not many SEC schools involved in that classification.

Lol.

Better facility, better stadium, better fan support, and easier division?

VT is on a whole different level than MSU.

I mean, has he won "the big one" yet?

For the record, I think he's a good coach, especially considering what he's done at a traditionally bad school.

State has me scared shitless if somehow it comes down to the Egg Bowl for a trip to Atlanta

I was talking to someone at work this afternoon about this. I don't think I want to see Mullen leave us for another job, but I would be interested to see what Mullen could do in a school that could consistently recruit high caliber athletes.

What he has been able to do with the recruiting classes he has brought in is pretty impressive considering pre-Mullen, we were lucky to win 5 games in a season.
